In the spirit of fair play I have decided that any LIBERAL that thinks it is ok to starve Terry Schiavo to death should have to take her place.

Since the liberals say they are in touch with the common man they should have no problem starving themselves to death for the betterment of man.

This simple plan will eliminate much of the “waste” of oxygen and precious resources.

So be a better person, Liberals, a few here,need to starve yourselves to death for a real progressive movement.

This poor woman died a long time ago. Her family just keep killing her over and over, prolonging the torture. I believe that Congress had no business meddling in the court's affairs. I think her parents are selfish assholes for prolonging this. I think her husband tried all he could for the first number of years to get her properly rehab'd. Her parents tried to take care of her, but returned her to institutional care, because they couldn't. I think her husband is doing the right thing trying to let her die in peace. Removing the feeding tube and letting her die is not like letting starving children in a third world county die. She would just pass quietly, as her organs quietly shut down. At the end of life, people die from organ failure routinely as a result of lack of nutrition. This "starvation" thing is bullshit hype.

It's amazing to me that these same jerks who profess the sanctity of life, ie the dubya dummy, had no reservations putting retarded people to death in Texas. Just a bunch of pandering jerks trying to politicize a tragedy.

Just let the poor woman die already. Fer cryin' out loud........

Just realized I posted this to minisculeman's article. But, my sentiments are the same regarding Shiavo. And, they're the same regarding minisculeman and his continual inflammatory and insulting posts.

Dabe, do you have a living will? If so, could you do us all a favor and set it up to kick in at something around the level of "A Light Nap"...

If she is dead, then so were kids I worked with as a teen. It disgusts me to think that we are now equating mentally handicapped with "dead"...

No one but him and God, (yes, I'm bringing God into it) knows what his wife said to him. People, the nurses, the parents, strangers, will sit and speculate and accuse but they don't really know having not lived day to day, or minute to minute in their home. People will always be quick to jump on whatever band wagon they believe in, that's their right. But if you have never been in the position that Terry is in, a vegetative state, lying there, not knowing anything, how can she, she's literally dead. Her husband, despite whatever accusations are being thrown at him, is still that, her husband. He loves her, had a relationship with her and knew her while she was up and "kicking". Would you want to be in that position to have to decide that it's time for your spouse to die, time to pull the plug and not try anymore because there's no hope? Because everyday that she's kept alive, she's in pain and the detail of what they have to do to keep her alive, have not been disclosed for the public to know what her body is being put through (I might be wrong here, but I have yet to see).Regardless of what your opinions are, whatever the public may think, this is this family's pain. It should not have come to this, the parents are trying to hold on to her because she's their child and you can't blame them for this. But she has a husband, and therefore they should respect her wishes to not remain that way.Having been in this situation before my mom passed on last year, I know how hard this is for these people, and I know especially how hard it is for Terry. My friend is right at this moment in the same situation in NY wherein her mom is in a coma and dying and she has to make the decision that is best for her family. It's not an easy decision to make and it doesn't make the pain of it go away.Would I want the government to take this right away from me? No! Should they become involved? No! Now that I live in Florida, what the President has done will take away my rights.

Here is my two Susan B. Anthony's worth thoughts on the subject:

If the people who are so willing to starve the individual support the decision so readily why not put her out of her so-called misery faster and less painful (i.e. lethal injection, bullet to the brainpan, etc.) why must the method of death be such a long and drawn out painful one instead of a quick painless one?

Are criminals more deserving of painless deaths than law-abiding citizens?
