Pope Meets Priest Accused of Anti-Jewish Remark

From the Associated press, Another "CHRISTIAN'' SHOWING some true colors.

This is why I have little or almost no respect for Christians in general.

ROME — Pope Benedict XVI met this week with a Polish priest who has been accused of making anti-Jewish comments. Photos showing the pope at his summer residence with, Father Tadeusz Rydzyk along with two other Polish priests, were published in Polish newspapers yesterday.

The Vatican has not commented on the meeting. But a Vatican official confirmed yesterday that the three were brought to the pope, along with other pilgrims, after the pontiff's weekly public blessing Sunday in Castel Gandolfo, his summer home. Father Rydzyk was allegedly caught on tape saying Jews are greedy and that President Kaczynski of Poland is subservient to Jewish lobbyists.

Nothing like a Catholic priest perpetuating the fallacy that all JEWS are Greedy. Yay Christians! Once again caught with their pants down, oops no that is another story. Shows you that in their hearts they still blame the JEWS for killing another JEW called Jesus, so much for forgiveness huh?

here is a question for those of you who are so much smarter than me.

god sent prophets to the Jews for every generation for three thousand years.

then Christ comes and dies for our sins. so why do you think it is that god has stopped sending prophets.

just so you know i don't believe this. but it seems that most Christians and Jews do believe it.

the first pope was the last roman emperor. so i say again that the catholic church leadership is not Christian but the remains of the roman government.

i am not saying that the people are not Christians. some of them are.

the same with the religion i follow i am Mormon. only some of them are true Christians. the rest are not.

however the leadership for the most part is Christian. they donate without fanfare.

i try to follow the teachings of Christ. but i do not go to church haven't in 20 years. i do try to follow the teachings. but i do not claim to be a true Christian i come up short very short.

i stopped trying to be perfect about 20 years ago. i am not able to be perfect so i gave up on that idea. now i just do what seems to be right and what i want to do at the time.

as for who killed Christ it wasn't the romans and it wasn't the Jews. it was the Pharisees. the romans pulled the trigger. the people demanded his death but it was the Pharisees that knew who he was.

i will tell you one thing that i do not believe that there was something before this life i know there was. personnal experience.

It isn't about being perfect, but trying to walk out one day without sin, then another, then another,we are to walk out Torah/Instruction as he did and taught without excuse. He came to restore the Family and the friends of Joseph back to what was taken away because of sin,I tell you its going to be any wonder anyone is going to be saved, for so many listen to false teachers teaching false ways as true ways.
For 38 of my 42 yrs. I have heard every excuse to be lawless that can be twisted out of the scriptures, and Yahshua and his Apostles and their congregations were far from being lawless til it all ended in 329 a.d. and Lucifer conquered the communities by threat of death and instituted his sun of hell Iesus as the christian god and savour.

The information is in the Bible all you have to do is read in faith and all will soon open up but you have to be willing to read and learn not make excuses to sin.

As far as God's Revelation , both written oral Tradition, there will be no more Revelation. That ended with the death of the Last Apostle. Now, we must use what All merciful and loving God has given to know love and serve Him in this life to be with Him in the next eternal life.

I don't know whether God has stopped sending prophets or not. That would be an interesting study. Scripture tells us He will send 2 witnesses in the End Times.

Whether or not there are any more prophets doesn't mean Scriptural prophecy has all been fulfilled. It hasn't. Scripture tells us that Christ's Second Coming when He will judge the living and the dead.

Yes, I quite agree, it's true...This is good stuff being discussed.

Methinks that when you say "So let me continue to be educated" has double meaning....like the prize of the 100 mark?

It hasn't. Scripture tells us that Christ's Second Coming when He will judge the living and the dead.

actually he won't be judging any dead.

the scriptures also tell us that god is the only one who knows when Christ will return. not the angels and not Christ only god.

and i wouldn't worry about that until moderateman rebuilds the temple of Solomon. (the jews)

That ended with the death of the Last Apostle.

so your saying that god doesn't care about us enough to send us help.

Lula? I have quite a collection iof 100 Plus relpy articles, about 20 or so, they have lost meaning to me other than it shows a well received article. I even have two 300 Plus comment articles.

What I said about being educated is exactly what I mean, to stop being educated is to die, I still have a wonderfully curious brain and am not afraid to ask questions about subject matter I know nothing about.

Thank you Sabrina for pushing this article into 100, MY own personal benchmark for a job well done., Even without your halp I think it would have hit 100.

So lets refresh;

Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days shall come, saith the Lord , and I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; the covenant which they made void, and I had dominion over them, saith the Lord.
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord: I will give my law in their inward parts, and I will write it in their heart; and I will be their God , and they shall be my people:
34 and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know Yahweh (the Lord); for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith Yahweh (the Lord): for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin will I remember no more.

Yahshua came to restore the Marriage Covenant with the House of Judah and the House of Israel,

Please note I've changed and highlighted some of the words the passage according to the Douay Rheims version.

These verses describe what Our Lord God is saying in Jeremias' prophecy which has been fulfilled. V. 31-32 describe the Old Covenant (Old Law--biblical Judaism),broken by the people's sins; v 33-34 speak very forcefully of the New Covenant which will endure forever.

Nothing what I've written concerning the covenants contradicts Jeremias 31:31-34.

The Old Covenant is described as having 3 characteristic features; It carried the force of tradition becasue it was a covenant made with the "fathers"; it was a sign of divine election as can be seen with the phrase "I took them by the hand"; and it showed God's authority over His people.

The New COvenant has 3 characteristics too. It's new, interior and heartfelt. It's new becasue prior to it, God was never described this way, yet not new in terms that the previous covenant has ceased to operate (Hebrews 8:18-31), but in the sense that it is definitive and will not be superceded.

When, at the Last Supper, Jesus said the words of consecration over the chalice, "This cup which is poured out for you is the New Testament (Covenant) (St.LUke 22:20; 1Cor.11:25), He brings Jeremias' prophecy to fulfillment.

The New COvenant is interior, in that the New Law is written on their hearts. It's etched in the heart of the people and of each individual. It's content didn't change, it's still the Law of GOd, but people now will know it in a different way. The previous COvenant was written on tablets of stone (Ex.31:38 34:28), but this one will be written on the heart and soul of every one. Therefore, it's part of a person's being. It's not just an external obligation, people's well-formed consciences tell them what they ought to do; If they fail to live up to the demands of t he COvenant, they lose their identity until they are converted and are redeemed from sin.

In Hebrews 10:8, in explaining this further, that the NC Christ has obtained forgiveness of sins for us through His Cross and therefore the old sin offerings of the OC no longer have any effect.

Finally, it's heartfelt, because it's based on a loving relatonship between God and His people. Jer. 31:33; 7:23. It implies bonds of fidelty and love. Check back with Hosea 1:9.

To carry this through to everyday living, moral imperatives should not come via legal imposition from outside, they should arise from a person's heart---the aim being not so much perfect, guiltless behavior as living in union with God: "All who keep My Commandments abide in Him, and He in them." 1St.Jn.3:24.

Lastly, the New Covenant has given its name to the New testament on which the New people of God is founded. The New Covenant is a call for unity and of peace for all mankind through fidelty to God and His Laws and love of one another. From Lumen gentium 9,

"At all times and in every race God has given welcome to whosoever fears Him and does what is right. GOd, however, does not make men holy and save them merely as individuals, without bond and link between one another. Rather, it has pleased Him to bring men together as one people, a people that acknowledges Him in truth and serves Him in holiness.

He therfore chose the race of Israel as a people unto Himself. With it He set up a covenant. Step by step He and prepared this people, making known in its history both Himself and the decree of His Will and making it holy unto Himself. All these things were done, however, by way of preparation and as a figure of that new and perfect covenant, which was to be ratified in Christ, and of that fuller Revelation which was to be given through the Word of God Himself made flesh.

Christ instituted this New Covenant, the New Testament, in His Blood, calling together a people made up of Jew and Gentile, making them one, not according to the flesh, but in the Spirit.

is your church going to save your sorry hide from your sins?
Pastor Terry

Jeremiah3131, you may neither like it nor believe it, but truth is that it is only the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church that points to the degree of continuity of the Old Covenant and the Sacrifice of Christ. The Mosaic sacrifices really had no power to forgive sins, Christ's sacrifice does. Christ gave His authority to His apostles, St.Peter being the rock upon which He built His Church and gave him the keys to the kingdom and the power to bind and loose which had in turn been handed down through successors. Christ promised that He will be with His Church until the end of time and that the gates of Hell will not prevail.

Peace,

So have Mormons discarded the Apostles' Creed? For in their Creed, the Apostle's say "I believe in God...I believe in Jesus Christ...He ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead."

the scriptures also tell us that god is the only one who knows when Christ will return. not the angels and not Christ only god.

Yes, this is what Sacred Scripture says. No one, not even Christ knows the day when Christ will return...that's all according to God's plan and at His own pleasure. Christ tells us to watch and pray.

It's kinda the same warning that no one knows when their last breath will be...when their ticket to ride is up. Scripture says it comes like a thief in the night...and to be ready.

No, I'm not saying nor have sais that at all. God cared so much for us that He sent His only begotten Son who died for us and before He went to heaven, He established a Church who was sent into the world to carry on Christ's mission to bring all souls to Heaven. God gave us Sacred Scripture and Sacred Apostolic Tradition to help us in our journey..both of these are the Church's deposit of faith.
