America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
This Bush being compared to Hitler must stop!
Published on March 3, 2006 By Moderateman In Current Events
Yesterday on the news we were treated by a high school geography teacher ranting on how President Bush is following Adolph Hitlers footsteps.

He was recorded by a student in his class and has since been put on administrative leave.

This is ridiculous! We must stop these liberal teachers that are brainwashing our children.

I propose all classes be recorded so that teachers with an agenda of any kind that is not in the syllabus be dismissed.

I wonder how many of these teachers really have an idea how horrendous Hitler was?. How many of the students really grasp the atrocities Hitler committed?

This teacher was teaching a class comprised of 14 and 15 year old students.

They did a bit on the Daily Show showing clips on all the comparisons to hitler. It's just ridiculous. I guess there are a lot of people who need a history lesson.

Teachers should keep their politics out of the classroom. Even if you're teaching a current events class. you should be able to present both sides of an issue and keep your personal feelings out of it.

Actually, I think this is a great example of the system working as it should.

We don't need taxpayer money going to wiring all the classrooms, we have students who are willing to take notes and record lectures.

Now that this teacher has been exposed, I'm guessing more kids will expose more teachers. Far left and far right crap posing as "education" can only keep going as long as the students and their parents are willing to let it go. Apparently we are reaching the "enough is enough" point.

Some of the best high school classes I remember are the ones where us students were able to choose a side and debate it...

I think the teacher's opinions, whatever they may be, should be kept out of the equation. Isn't the goal to encourage extraordinary, unique thought instead of bullshit drivel?

That he is a kook is unquestionable.  However, I did not label him liberal because he also trashed JFK and Clinton (altho not by name the way he did Bush).  I think he was just trying to blame Bush for all the perceived evils of the last 50 years, and forgot that Bush has not been President for all of them.  But I gave liberals the benefit of the doubt.

if both sides of an issue are presented and the teacher keeps their opinion OUT OF IT, then that's teaching and that's a good thing.

He's only being demonized in the press and by students who back the teacher. Those who back the student are praising him...

The point is, the teacher and his supporters can't stand up to scrutiny... all they have is name calling.

I see no reason for teachers to have to be any more or less a-political than anyone else. I knew the political leanings fo most of my teachers (and they knew mine). The trouble is when a teacher is NOT teaching their subject, they lie, or they spew politics without allowing students to speak out against their views.

try to remember how much name calling hurt when you were 14 years old, would you subject yourself to that intentionally?

Keep the liberals out of this discussion, thank you. The most liberal president of the 20th century led the country against Hitler, don't forget.

imagine having to monitor all those recordings. maybe we can get a dubai company to transcriptions?

encouraging students to denounce their teachers worked for hitler, stalin and the red guard during china's cultural revolution. once they get good at it, perhaps we can have em start taping their neighbors and parents.

Hey, it works for me. I've done transcription subcontracting work for paranoid US companies before. The money is awesome and it's not exactly mentally straining to transcribe lunchroom conversations.

Eh... Frankly I think FDR wouldn't hold a candle to some we've had. Let's not forget all the little pet projects a *real* Liberal President could have had during his 12 year, pre-civil rights reign, which he barely gave lip service to.

yeah but imagine having to audit elementary and middle school classes. hell i could barely stand bein there first time around, much less having to relive it all again day after day after day.

just all them third grade fart jokes alone pose a dire instant onset alzheimer's threat.
