Beat down, face bloody.. ribs acheing Holding side, whimpering. Rolling over, rising up, hands scar the cement, seeing the victor smile... so he thinks, watching eyes grow wide as I rise, Once again standing.. blood dripping, smiling back with broken mouth, Not tru yet.... never done..... I sit back......... to rise another day.

As I approach Death and watch Death approach me, I find my mind wandering to gentler kinder days. Back goes the wheel and it stops in the 1950s when I was a child. It was a time when you could let your children out to play without worrying about monsters on every block trying to molest them. It was a time when all children went trick-or-treating with no worries about poison candy Or ground glass inserted into the candy. No adults allowed for sure. I got .30 cents allowance a wee...

AS the 40th anniversery of operation silverlance approaches I cannot help but wonder why am I still alive? I left behind teammates that in my mind are still children, 18,19 and 20 year old kids, with hearts the size of rhode Island. I sit here approaching my birthday, and find no reason I am still here. I see pictures in my head of my old friends, companions, they are forever frozen in time as young, while I am growing very grey, and fat, old and tired. If anyone cares to read abo...

So proudly he served, so valiantly he fought for his country. So very young he went marching off to war with the words of his immigrant father ringing in his ears “this country took us in gave us shelter, granted us the American dream if this country calls you, you drop everything and you go fight for her”. So off he went and fought. It was an ugly time, so much death for one so young, so much screaming, crying, pain filled times. His time in country ended, alive he was looking fo...

I need to remind myself why I volunteered to fight a war. It was so my lovely wife had the right to protest in the streets voicing her opinion that war is wrong and evil. It was so My own brother whom I adore could take to the street do protest freely and not having to worry about being killed for his opinion. It was to keep my countrymen safe and to live the American dream of democracy. It was done so big mouth America hating liberals have the right to express their opinion. I...

He glanced from the rail of the ship that transported himself and his Pregnant wife, seeing New York City for the first time. Ellis Island was to be the first stop, His wife was praying that she did not give birth to the child before they were allowed to reach 'AMERICA' were the child would be the most treasured of all things to them, an AMERICAN CITIZEN. America! the land of opportunity, he had no real skill, but his wife's brothers have been in America for 10 years or so and have done...

Out of curiosity i wonder how many of you will be truthful and say "i Know who this person was". Most of us old-timers have heard of the feats of bravery of Sgt. Alvin York in world war one. We also know the most decorated man in world war two was Audie Murphy. Many movies and books have been written about their courageous exploits. But how many of you know of Joe Hooper? At the age of 17 Joe Hooper enlisted in the navy, when it came time to re-enlist Joe went into the Army. On Fe...

It seems the NAACP is up to its old tricks again making victims of blacks in the United States again. Now they want the government to spend taxpayer money to research what companies still exist that held slaves 150 years ago. The NAACP which has about 11 billion Liberal lawyers working for them and are also members cannot seem to find anyone of them to do pro bono work to help there own cause and there own people. Is this just another case of the leadership defining the black people ...

Mason and baker inspired this article. We sit in horror at the wanton murder of innocent civilians, while the news glories in such atrocities. We must remember that all news organizations are in business to MAKE money. They make money by trading in on the suffering of others, the raping of children, the beheadings, and the homicide bombings, the more terrible the news the better the circulation or viewer ship. I believe in free press very strongly, but {yep the terrible mm but}...

How many roads must a man walk down Before you call him a man? Yes, 'n' how many seas must a white dove sail Before she sleeps in the sand? Yes, 'n' how many times must the cannon balls fly Before they're forever banned? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind, The answer is blowin' in the wind. How many times must a man look up Before he can see the sky? Yes, 'n' how many ears must one man have Before he can hear people cry? Yes, 'n' how many deaths will it take till he k...

Once upon a time there was this very small boy that lived in constant fear. Punished for his religion he was so proud of. Growing up to the sounds of being called Christ killer. He was raised in a neighborhood that was Roman Catholic, mostly hotheaded Sicilians, that took delight in tormenting this 4 foot 9 child of 13.  With the election over and Barak Obama our President-elect, it is our duty as patriotic Americans to do all we can do to help him succeed! In this day of technology, perhaps we can learn a thing or two from two of our greatest inventors and two of their contemporary poets. It was of course Alexander Graham Bell who invented the telephone. It has proved to be one of the greatest most used inventions of all times. Little did he know that one day his invention would evolve into cell pho...
