Besides blogging, or complaining about Bush, or pointing out who did what where and how, what are YOU DOING TO HELP the folks of america that have been displaced by hurricane Katrina?

I went in my closet and sorted out jeans, shorts, shirts, sweaters, coats and shoes to donate.  I did the same with my kids' closets...some friends of ours are taking a bus loaded with all kind of stuff down to Mississippi and Alabama next week.

I also volunteered to donate appliances, dishes, bed linens and furniture to displaced people who relocate to St Louis.

I've donated money to Second Harvest Link

and to HSUS Link

Not much else I can do right now, but at least I did that.

We gave a monetary donation and now that NY is organizing the "NYS people who have rooms for people that don't" program, we will probably give money and clotes to those poeple supplying room.

All we have is a basement, good for short term, but not long. We are left with money, goods and whatever services they need.

wELL... ALL i CAN DO IS PUT A BANNER ON MY WEBSITES. oNE IN PITICULAR, ESOURCEMAGAZINE, i POST SOMETHING ABOUT HELPING THE VICTOMS ALMOST EVERYDAY.

(sorry about the caps... I'm too lazy to go over it again)

I can only give time, for I don't have much else to give. I am making banners for others to put on their websites and skins. I'll post them when I finish.

I followed the links Dabe and LW posted, and it made me cry. All those poor dogs and cats, left behind....wondering where their humans went and how come they didn't get to go too. Then i saw pictures of some rescued dogs getting a boat ride and a bath and it made me feel better than someone was caring about them.

I'm sitting here with Henry on my lap, letting him know how much he's loved and wanted. it just seemed like the right thing to do after seeing all those poor critters....
