Carnivorians take back our meat from the hands of the unbelievers.

Maybe someone should show them all our teeth, the front teeth made for biting chunks out of MEAT, the back to chew it with.

When D retires from the military and we have our homestead I'm going to have to get over my not wanting to kill things

nothing like be self sufficient, chickens die fast if ya just wring necks, pigs ya cut that one big vein { I do not eat pig but would if I HAD TO}

I always called that "Pittsburg Rare", i.e. charred on the outside, cool and bloody rare on the inside. Most places I went knew what I was talking about.

Us Brits call it 'blue'...no wonder nobody over here knew what I was talking about! I'll have to write that 'Pittsburg rare' down and keep it in my purse...

No, I love a good ribeye and I cook them outside all the time. One thing good about where I am is that Mesquite is everywhere and free for the gathering and there is nothing better to cook with. Ah, a ribeye, a baked potato, a iced twelve pack of Coors... Heaven!

MM and Mrs. MM will gladly supply all but the booze.

Slim Jims (and other notable "jerkys") have crap like chicken hearts in them. Dried meat beef jerky is fine with me (especially homemade).

Hey Tex..How come you don't eat the lunch meat, sausage, ground beef..etc..is it because it is mixed up stuff or just cause you don't really know what is in it?!

I kind of agree with the latter part.

It's a little bit of both. I never had a taste for things like chicken or pork chops, but I ate wieners and ground beef and even sausage until a teacher in high school read excerpts of The Jungle to us...and then later a home ec teacher showed a graphic documentary about a kid who got E. Coli and nearly died.

Ground stuff is such a mix of parts and grime. It's the meat of several animals all jumbled together. It's just gruesome to me.

With steaks, I know it comes from one animal and doesn't have any weird stuff mixed in it and it seems cleaner. Also, I feel better about it because E. Coli lives on the outside of the meat, making steaks safer.

I'm not sure why I don't like sandwich meat.

I'm just weird, hehe. I'm REAL fun to go to a restaurant with, too...hahahhahaa.
