America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
How soon we forget.
Published on June 15, 2005 By Moderateman In Politics
While all this discussion about America’s inhumane treatment of the poor terrorists, we seem to have forgotten something.

We were attacked, innocent men and woman and children, civilians, sneak attacked, MURDERED.

While the left is busy wringing their hands over if we will be perceived better by closing GITMO, They seem to have once again dropped the ball.

Not only was 3000 INNOCENT Americans MURDERED, but how about the families of these 3000 people? Who worries about them?

When will the secular left get it? That no matter what we do, and how we do it, someone is going to be unhappy about it?

We are not here to please the world; we are here to defend ourselves from, no conscious, murdering, religious fanatics, bent on the total destruction of America and her ways.

Wake up America, we are at war, we are in peril, we are at risk of losing everything that makes us the great people and country that we are.

I don't forget 9/11 2001. I also remember 9/11 1973 Link

Although, I don't think closing Gitmo would be necessary if we got to see what was going on in there. Yes, the Christina Aguilera music is torture and I pity any poor sould that has to endure that. However if we got to see inside and see of sure whether anyone was being tortured or not, we won't have to make any rash decisions.

But I don't think using actual torture will help much. We don't want to create more terrorists by torturing or killing innocent people and having their brothers avenge them. That is counter-productive.

I agree that actual torture does not work, but since we do not accually torture people it's a moot point.

That's what I'm saying. If we can see inside Gitmo, there's no real reason to close it (assuming I see what I hope I see). Even then, the problems can probably be fixed without closing it down.

and just how do we see inside of gitmo without comprimising security? Give the terrorist a world stage and they will play victim to the hilt.

They can already. What is needed is for their allegations to be disproved, as they can get people to believe their allegations right now as there is no proof to the contrary.

When are you people going to let the events of September 11, 2001 go, and move on with your lives? I'm so fucking sick of people rehashing this event (tragic as it was) that I want to puke.

My mother died in a unforseen and freak accident last year, and guess what? I GOT OVER IT. She's not coming back, and neither are the victims of the WTC tragedy. Sure I'm saddened by the fact that my mom isn't here, but I don't dwell on it...every...god...damn...time I think about her.

Get a grip people.

NO! You get over it! America as a "whole" will NEVER get over 9/11. And it would be very ignorant to assume we would. For Christ's sake we were attacked on our "own" soil!

Exactly. They need to stop worrying about what the enemy thinks of us. Somebody gets offended, so what?

First of all...not everyone on the left is secular.

Second of all... most of us did not forget the awful events of that day. Mod.. it is wrong for you to make the attacks on Sept. 11th a partisan issue. All of America suffered as did the entire civilised world. Anyone that does not recognise the severety of those attacks is a complete moron...it has nothing to do with their political leanings.

We got over it like we got over Pearl harbor.  We just wont forget it.  Like most europeans want to forget the holocaust. If you understand the difference, fine.  if you dont, that is your problem.
