How soon we forget.

While all this discussion about America’s inhumane treatment of the poor terrorists, we seem to have forgotten something.

We were attacked, innocent men and woman and children, civilians, sneak attacked, MURDERED.

While the left is busy wringing their hands over if we will be perceived better by closing GITMO, They seem to have once again dropped the ball.

Not only was 3000 INNOCENT Americans MURDERED, but how about the families of these 3000 people? Who worries about them?

When will the secular left get it? That no matter what we do, and how we do it, someone is going to be unhappy about it?

We are not here to please the world; we are here to defend ourselves from, no conscious, murdering, religious fanatics, bent on the total destruction of America and her ways.

Wake up America, we are at war, we are in peril, we are at risk of losing everything that makes us the great people and country that we are.

Sorry but this is just plain ignorant on history! We did "nothing"? What the hell do you call the european theater of operations during WW2? We didn't even know it was going on till we liberated some camps!

I call it the Soviets kicking some Nazi ass all the way from Stalingrad to Berlin. Let's face it, Stalingrad was where the Nazis were defeated. And the only reason the allies landed in Normandy was to get themselves in a better position to keep Europe out of Soviet hands after the war.

Besides, there was a reason the other countries couldn't intervene. They were kind of taken over and occupied by the time. And saving the people killed in the Holocaust was never really a goal of the war. For Great Britain, it was a war of survival. America was attacked by Germany's ally. All of the former colonies were dragged in when Britain declared war.

No it wasn't the focus on the war. By the time we had any proof at all (liberated camps) the war was over.

Sorry, Modman, I was actually referring to something someone said about closing GITMO (said it shouldn't be closed just so it looks like America is doing the right thing). What I mean is any action regarding terrorists is always going to be viewed by some elements as the wrong way to be handling them. I know it probably is niave on my part to assume their innocence, but if it is good enough for the goose, then it should be good enough for the gander.

and what about all the war laws these monsters broke?

This just sounds like the 'he did it to me, so I did it back to him' line, which I find counter-productive at best.

I'm not one of "the secular left" I'm actually a Christian and know that all mankind is created in the image of God, whether they believe that or not, whether they follow God or not, whether they come from the west, the middle east or anywhere else.

That's my main problem with Gitmo and some of the comments that I've heard surrounding it. These people are still people, still created in the image ot God, still desrve some sort of treatment as human beings. They are not animals, they should not be treated as such.

The September 11th victims do not need people using their names to justify anything. Not Bush using them, or you.
