America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
Starve a Liberal for a better America

In the spirit of fair play I have decided that any LIBERAL that thinks it is ok to starve Terry Schiavo to death should have to take her place.

Since the liberals say they are in touch with the common man they should have no problem starving themselves to death for the betterment of man.

This simple plan will eliminate much of the “waste” of oxygen and precious resources.

So be a better person, Liberals, a few here, need to starve yourselves to death for a real progressive movement.

Starve a Liberal for a better America.com My newest sight.

So all you fathead liberals do america A FAVOR... starve slowly to death, then tell me how starving terry schiavo is better for her because she can't feel it. JERKS!

That which we do the least of our citizens is the mark by which the society will be judged.

To starve any living animal to death is cruel and unusual punishment. If you want to kill her, do so. Do not make her suffer to salve your conscience.

My comment had actually pertained to Moderateman's comparison of a person in a 'persistent vegetative state' to a liberal.

Taking Mrs. Schiavo's life is not up for me to decide, nor do I think it was up to Congress. However, starvation is the worst way to take her life. Why keep her starving for up to two weeks when there are quicker, more humane ways to do it? I oppose the method with which they plan on taking her life, and only the method.

Considering her cerebrum has nearly entirely liquidized, I really cannot say whether I think Schiavo should live or die. That is up to her legal guardian. Mr. Schiavo should relinquish his status as legal guardian to a member of the immediate family and should not be allowed to make the decision when her entire family opposes him.

"Taking Mrs. Schiavo's life is not up for me to decide, nor do I think it was up to Congress. "

So, given the newfound Liberal interest in "State's Rights", the Federal impositions ending slavery and imposing Roe V. Wade should also now be rethought, along with THOUSANDS of other impositions perpertrated by Liberal Democrats treading on state's rights for the last hundred years...

Mr. Schiavo abandoned his spouse a decade ago, and therefore is either a polygamist or NOT her legal guardian. If this were an immigration marriage everyone would be calling it a sham. When you want to kill someone, though, you get a lot more sympathy from Americans, I guess...

On the contrary, Moderateman is making a point, using sarcasm. You, on the other hand, haven't had an original point in the whole time I have seen you post here... To me, copying and pasting angst you find elsewhere is much more "8 year-old" behavior...

if you want to have an end to your life you better get an advanced directive spelling it out for you. to have this decision left in real loved ones hands is cruel.

Congress has every right to legislate whether euthanasia is legal or not, but it is unnecessary and some are calling it unconstitutional for them pass the bill they did (although I wouldn't go so far as to say that). I don't think it is good for Congress to interfere in a specific case like this; I would feel better if they were debating the legality of pulling the plug and not debating about Schiavo in particular.

this is why my wife and I have advanced directives and we have power of attorney over each other, so no one gets to decide what happens to either of us. WE DO>

Baker, you have ended up one my very short shit list. Actually, you are theo nly one on it. I respect the views of moderateman, frustrated with him as I might get. You, though, are a cantankerous individual and I will have nothing to do with you... by the way, maybe look through my articles, and you will find I am not the king of copy and paste.. in fact I write sophisticated, educated, articles. Actually Baker, I have never liked you, not since the first article I ever posted to, which was yours, and you were talking about imposing your religious b eliefs on the rest of us.

Sorry Modman for hijacking your post.

Seriously though, I feel it is a constitutional right for osmeonbe to be able to choose to die. We are allowed to die for our country, but not allowed to die for our dignity?
on Mar 21, 2005
Someone isn't "choosing to die", an abandoned spouse is being starved to death on the word of the husband that abandoned her ten years ago. She's being torn away from a family more than willing to take care of her, by someone who has "moved on".

I really don't care what you think of me Sandy, and I'll put my articles right up against yours in terms of which is more knee-jerk and "party line".
on Mar 21, 2005
Well, there's a quite a lot of hostility floating around here. Why not just establish the fact that everyone has their own opinion and let it go...blah blah blah. Moderateman, IMO suggesting liberals die in the title of your article is just ASKING for a flame war. You wanted this conflict. Congratulations, you've succeeded. No? Just trying to express your opinion? Nonviolent motives are probably a better idea in the future.

It's not my place to dictate how you write your articles, but I would appreciate a little respect. Understandably, JU is a bit more right-wing and I have to put up with that, but at least try to picture the other side of the point. The best way to make your case is to find out what your opponent has against you, and counter it.

So you support keeping Terry alive. Please consider this: She's a vegetable. I do not support the murder of a conscious human being. However, Terry has slipped past that point, to which it would be a kindness to end her life. Starvation? Bad idea. I would support lethal injection, so to make sure that she suffered a quick and painless death. Alive, however, she is simply using resources that could be used to help a person with A CHANCE of getting better. She is serving no real purpose alive except to provoke debates such as this. Grow up.
