America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~

Ok ok ok This idea is in reponse to another post..

Chivalery is not dead..... I come form an older generation and please do not say its dead, tired yes...

Give me an excuse to polish up my armour, sharpen my rusty nicked broadsword, beg my old charger to run one more time and I will do this.

Men I think are programed for this {at least old farts like me}

My wife who is brillant, askes me why when I hear her complain I just cannot listen to it, why must I seek an immediate solution for her..
I tell her its male programming, we hear female problem we wanna fix it.. drives her nuts btw.

We bought this home in an active adult community for one BIG reason... there are armed gaurds on the gate 24/7/365, She could go for a walk at 3 am in the morning and I wouldnt bat an eye.. its safe. safe safe here..

Men just have to "protect" our ladies we cannot help it.
Its a big part of what makes us men

The woman abusers are not MEN..... just little scared boys in big bodies.

I am not a male pigman in any way shape or form... I do not want my ladies power.. I do not want her to ask my permission for anything.. period.

She is her own person, a responsible adult with her head firmly planted on her shoulders.

But when I see what I consider a "dangerous" situation I cannot help but putting my large 6ft 2 in 225 pound body between her and a percieved danger.

I love and treasure this woman and will do more than die for her. I will live for her, honor her, respect her and yes PROTECT her too.

On a side note she will protect me right back if she deems I am In danger.. does that make her a womanpig>? i think not.

We know you woman can handle your own lives, we know your own judgement is sound... we cannot help but being who we are either ok>?

*raises red palms* I didn't actually say chivalry was dead, I questioned whether it was, and if it wasn't, I was gonna go kill it.

Like your wife, i just find this instinct to protect very annoying. I'm sorry if you can't help it, and if I'm warmly disposed enough towards my guy, then hey- I actually find it kinda sweet, i don't particularly mind being somebody's "girl". But I would like men to realise that women are not weak, feeble creatures that need big men to run and protect them from the bad guys. Then again, if they didn't try to look after us, I'd probably bitch about that too!!

hey, I'm a woman, I'm crazy.

I don't think it's "protect" so much. Men have very active and vivid imaginations and just as soon as our child or wife steps outside the door, a small part of our brain has gone through 5-6 scenarios of what could happen to them. A man could have a body-building wife a foot taller than he is, who could can bench 400. The husband/boyfriend, is still going to worry.

The strength and ability of the woman is not a factor. Men know that nothing is truly safe and we do not want anything to happen to the most imprtant person in our lives.

Also, sorry to nag, but if men are so naturally chivalrous, how come none of them (or very few of them) hold doors for us or put their jackets across puddles anymore?

Let me amend what I said then. I think my irritation with "chivalry" rests on the assumption that men think women are weak. Evidently, with yourself at least, that isn't the case. You must be one of the few gentlemen that haven't been picked off by ..well, feminism probably or mutants or bad genes or whatever. I think, really what I was getting at in my article was the underlying assumption besides this,(that women are weak) that I find in my boyfriend, and in fact every guy I've ever dated, that I am somehow inviolable or pure or something, which is a different matter entirely. I apologise for jumping to the wrong conclusion.

Kudos to you. you are a man amongst metrosexuals.
