America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~

Everyone that flies knows you DO NOT SAY THE WORD BOMB, at the airport, PERIOD! not in any way shape or form, you just do not say it, or Hijack this is written in stone, if someone overhears you say one of these two words you can expect trouble for you and anyone flying with you.

So this Muslim family goes right ahead and say it, all innocent "where is the best place to sit if a BOMB goes off" now this is over heard and reported to the authorities and yes they are in trouble, they are not allowed to fly and the F.B.I. QUESTIONS THEM, well the F.B.I. CLEARS them to travel but does not communicate this to the carrier and the family has to make other arrangements to fly, and here we go, the Muslim family not willing to accept responsibility for their actions is already talking about suing the carrier for, what else? profiling, not that they did anything but broke a cardinal rule, yes mean old Americans are profiling them because they are Muslims. What ever happened to personal responsibility? They had to know you do not ever say bomb in any airport.

This is all due to political correctness no longer are people responsible for their actions, it is because of this or that, due to skin color or religion or both and they are being picked on, not because they broke a law it's because they are Black, or Latino, or Muslim or Jewish and I am so tired of this bull crap I can scream. This country is being ruined by Political correctness in all of it's forms and slowly we are becoming a nation of whiny sheep.

I read about this article on Digg and the reaction was just the opposite -- full of "sue the airline" and how racist Americans are.

Then again, Digg has become a community of fringe extreme leftists.

I remember back in the 70s and the jokes about "Hi Jack" said to a friend.  Just like you dont yell fire in a crowded theater, there are things that should not be said in jest in some places.  I doubt they will win that one.  The alternative is that if they had not done anything, they would be liable for a lot more suits than the one.

The only profiling done on that case was profiling stupids.

I agree, but notice how fast minorities scream "profiling" or "racism" or Bigotry" or any of the other buzz words they have been taught when they get in trouble!!

Of course.  They are being told constantly by liberals that they are stupid.  And they do vote for them, so why wont they believe what their masters are telling them about themselves?

I knew a guy who was traveling in Ireland in the late '80s.  During security inspection to get on the plane, he made a joke about a bomb.  As a result he missed his flights and made several new "friends" with security.

He complained that the people had no sense of security.  I told him he had no sense at all.

I just want to say this, Elie, and I know you can handle my honesty.

As a member of one of the most historically persecuted groups in the world, you've precious little sympathy for those who find themselves victims of the same in modern times.

My dad worked for McDonnell Douglas.  When we first moved to Germany, I remember having an identical conversation..."Where's the safest place to sit on one of these big-assed jets?"

Not that anyone could survive a midair bomb, collision, or severe mechanical failure in the first place.

My dad told us to sit directly over a wing if we could, as that provided a platform to jump down to in the event of an emergency, and barring that, the tail was the safest place to sit because it tended to 'break off' and spare you the fate of burning to death.

If the air marshalls determined these Muslims meant no harm and were cleared to fly, I'll take their word for it.

Not every incidence of discrimination and denial of services based on that discrimination is a 'scam.'

No I get it Sabrina, You just never say the word BOMB in an airport everyone knows this, that is my point, you say bomb and it get overheard, you are in trouble, I agree they should have been allowed to fly on the aircraft they were booted from, the fault for not being able to fly lands squarely on the backs of the FBI WHO DID not INFORM THE CARRIER THAT THESE FOLKS WERE CLEARED.

Exactly, anyone that reads, listens to the radio, or TV KNOWS you do not say BOMB in an airport

Airtran paid for their tickets for the follow on flight they took. I;d give them hotel and transportation costs, but they don't deserve to win a large sum in a lawsuit. They are partly to blame for their predicament. They couldn't shut the hell up and just take their seat. Maybe they need a little sensitivity training or at least watch the documentary on flight 98.
