America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
An Original thought would cause him to have a brain melt down!

This is why An Empty Suit Like Barak Hussein Obama appears to be such a powerful speaker! He has done his home work, or has more than likely had his lackeys do it for him and has copied the speaking patterns of four of the most powerful speakers of the last 65 years. The only Powerful speaker he left out was Adolph Hitler, but I am sure if he thought he could get away with it he would have used Adolf as a role model too!.

Basically he is much like the dummy a ventriloquist holds on his lap while the man does the speaking. If he had an original thought I believe his brain would explode.

1. Hold Out Hope

Like Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama speaks in the uplifting rhetoric of hope. After his defeat in New Hampshire, Obama’s political oratory was so hopeful he sounded more like a winner than a runner–up. Obama knew a hopeful message would embolden his supporters. In a speech on Jan. 8, 2008, Obama said, “We know the battle ahead will be long. But always remember, no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change… We have been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.” Except when you are running on a platform of pie in the sky politics.

You are the leader people want to believe in. Your customers and employees are bombarded by bad news – the credit crunch, a housing slump, an economic slowdown – but they are eager to hear something positive. That doesn’t mean leaders stick their heads in the sand – far from it. Inspiring leaders acknowledge the situation but also remind people of reasons to be optimistic.

2. Use Rhetorical Devices

Many observers say Obama sounds like King. This is because he uses some of the same techniques that made King an electrifying speaker. Barak Obama is not fit to scratch Kings butt, and King was a liar himself, King for one was not a dr. of anything. His name was not even Martin Luther. King also ripped off the " I have a dream speech" from another pastor!

Parallel structure. We can thank the ancient Greeks for this rhetorical tool – they called it “anaphora.” It simply means repeating the same word or expression at the beginning of successive sentences or phrases. One of the most famous examples is King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed…. I have a dream that… I have a dream…” Obama uses the same device frequently. In his Iowa victory speech on Jan. 3, Obama said, “You have done what the cynics said we couldn’t do. You have done what the state of New Hampshire can do in five days. You have done what America can do in this new year.”

Anaphora’s sister technique is called “epistrophe.” It is the repetition of a word or expression at the end of successive sentences or phrases. For example, in Obama’s New Hampshire speech, the expression “Yes, we can” rallied thousands of supporters when used like this, “It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation: Yes, we can. It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail towards freedom through the darkest of nights: Yes, we can. It was sung by immigrants as they struck out for distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness: Yes, we can.”

Alliteration. Both Kennedy and King were fond of this device that strings together words starting with similar sounds. At the 2004 Democratic National Convention keynote speech that brought Obama to prominence, he said, “Do we participate in a politics of cynicism or do we participate in a politics of hope?” In 2005, during a commencement speech at Knox College, Obama described America as “a place where destiny was not a destination, but a journey to be shared and shaped…” When speaking at the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars in August, 2006, Obama proclaimed, “The history of America is one of tragedy turned into triumph.” In January’s New Hampshire speech, Obama used alliteration again: “We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics.” My Sentence would be " We have been lied to by the leader of losers"

Rich Imagery. Persuasive speakers have long understood the power of imagery to stir emotions – the creation of mental pictures through the words. In his 2004 speech, Obama described what he meant by the audacity of hope: “It’s the hope of slaves sitting around a fire singing freedom songs, the hope of immigrants setting out for distant shores, the hope of a young naval lieutenant bravely patrolling the Mekong Delta, the hope of a mill worker's son who dares to defy the odds, the hope of a skinny kid with a funny name who believes that America has a place for him, too.”

3. Exude Confidence

In debates Obama appears unflappable, answering tough questions while maintaining strong eye contact. He doesn’t fidget or shake his head when listening to sharp attacks from his opponents. While seated, he leans slightly forward. People will make an impression of you after only a few seconds. Pay attention to what your body is saying. Communicate confidence, competence, and control. He has been schooled well, I wonder how much money he spent on trying to appear as though he is cool under pressure? I would like to see a debate with heart and blood pressure machines hooked up to the candidates so we can really see who maintains their cool and who is just APPEARING TO BE COOL!

4. Use Dynamic Vocal Delivery

A monotonous speaking style lulls the listener to sleep, regardless of the power of the content. Obama knows how to enhance his delivery. Consider these three aspects of his delivery.

Pacing. Obama varies the speed at which he speaks. Very few sentences are delivered at exactly the same pace.

Volume. In his victory speech after the Iowa caucuses, Obama raised the volume of his speech with each sentence in the following paragraph: “We are one nation. We are one people. And our time for change has come.” Each sentence slightly louder than the one preceding it.

Pauses. Nothing is as dramatic as a well–placed pause, and Obama knows it. He pauses at key moments to make a memorable impact. If only he would pause, period!

How would you be insulted, if you were a liberal? Please explain. I wasn't even speaking to you Paladin but I welcome your opinion. I find it funny that you seem to be so sure of yourself, as if you have the final say in this matter thats bold man. "Like I said, there is little to disagree with." Ok man that's fine and dandy, but I still have my gripes and I still have my intellect intact, and while the mighty Paladin has spoken with his bold analysis, I will still hold my criticism. Seriously man you didn't even respond with any sort of rebuttal or anything. All you did was giggle. Is that what you do when people respond with a view point? You giggle? When someone confronts you with a criticism all you do is giggle? If you aren't going to do anything mroe than giggle than don't waste your time. If you have anything with actual substance to say, then let's have at it. I might be wrong in this who knows, but please find fortitude to do more thna just giggle hmmkay?

P.S. if you are going to assume I am a liberal, please don't.  I know because I'm criticizing someone because they are criticizing Obama, you are going to start taking the usual and predictable jabs and accusations of a "lefty lunatic" or "crazy liberal" or bleeding heart or whatever else label you've been instructed to place on me.  I'm for no particurlar party, more so, I'm for truth and effectiveness, and morality.

You criticize without context which brings your intellect in doubt. I only know of you by what you have written and you have written much but said little. I have never had a problem with valid disagreements that are cogently laid out, something you have failed to do in both of your preceding posts. You rant without any substance and call yourself luminous, maybe I am too obtuse to see such luminosity so could you go to your first post and make it easier for one so slim of intellect to comprehend.

Yes, I am sure of myself because I have experience and understanding of what I discuss. You seem to revel in vagary, if you wish someone to notice your brilliance may I suggest you be specific. You have a problem with what Modernman wrote try explaining why what he wrote disturbed you and what in specific you disagree with. Then maybe I won’t giggle but read with delight that someone can write a coherent and cogent argument.

Seriously man you didn't even respond with any sort of rebuttal or anything. All you did was giggle. Is that what you do when people respond with a view point? You giggle?

Is that what you did? I failed to notice a point or a view. I failed to see a rebuttal on your part which sparked my statements.

Sorry I hit the wrong button.

I made no assumption. I don’t recall calling you anything. I think you are so used to fighting the mantle of liberalism that you assumed I was doing the same. I would also point out that if my observation is correct then maybe you are a liberal, I mean if you have to correct that error often then maybe it is not an error.

To predictably go to the liberal refuge of suggesting that people are instructed to place labels on you I would seriously wonder if you have a persecution complex as well as issues of self-esteem.

If you are as you say for truth and effectiveness and morality, may I suggest you try using some on yourself? I mean no disrespect but you are arguing points I have not made, based on your narrow-mindedness of me. You pigeon holed me as whatever in your mind and have begun to go through your standard routine of dismissal because I must be one of those people. What I mean to say is your logic is flawed.

My comments were based on your ineffective rant that made no contextual sense. As far as morality that does not come into play in this forum because nothing was immorally stated.

Try reading what is written without bias or prejudice and you might be inspired to come off of the mountain top and grace us with a coherent statement.

The topic was his view as to why this empty suit, called Senator Obama, is so popular, I must have missed the attacks on him in the post that you have come to the Senators aid to defend the senator without defending him. A feckless defense is just as bad as an attack on someone undeserved.

Your turn.

I supplied my own thoughts and comments to the article and made it my own. But I did notice that you did not deny any of the points made in the article, you just tried to make me look bad. Typical of the far left, when confronted with the truth, attack the writer, ignore the article!
Thank you for proving once again how shallow the far left is!

I wasn't trying to make you look bad, I just thought it was pretty funny that you made this statement;
If he had an original thought I believe his brain would explode.

And then commence to paste in 90% of someone elses observations about Obama without mentioning that you're quoting someone else.

If I had any thoughts or comments on the article I would have posted them on the article by the original author when I read it last month.

you should really look at the whole lot of politicians rather than just one specific and highly biased attempt at hurting an individual you specifically disagree with.

Here's the problem with the blind man and the elephant. How do you know he has not? This is but one article. Even the MSM does not write novels on all candidates at once, they pick one and do an expose (or a hatchet job) and then write a second, third, fourth and on and on to bring out their biases on the others.

Yet you expect a blog to be comprehensive on the election process? Please, learn the difference. Go rant on the NY Times pages about how they cant seem to find the political party of a crook when they are a democrat. The article is about Obama, not a novel about all the candidates. If you read enough here, you will find what you want. Articles on all the candidates, both positive and negative, and if I am not mistaken, many of them by this author as well.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I find it hilarious that Barack Obama is the most hated candidate on JU when he's also the best man for the job.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ya'll KNOW it'll be a Democrat in the White House next, so it's all a matter of which one will screw up the LEAST. Please don't make me suffer through another Clinton presidency.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

This is way too fun.

Okay, I've had my say, I'm done.

MM, I don't usually agree with you but I do think that Obama is a great orator.  I would not go as far as to call him an empty suit.  I lived in Chicago when he was a state senator there.  I actually voted against him in his first election for the same reason people won't vote for him as president. He was an unknown lawyer with a middle-eastern name.  Our own collective bias as a nation shows up with his name so often.

I was impressed with him after that and I did vote for him the next time.  I think there is some substance there, but I would feel better about him if were a bit more experienced as a senator.

BTW, I am black and I don't think what you said was racist, but I wouldn't call it TRUTH either.  It's you opinion, nothing more.  Truth and opinion are not the same.

Like I said nothing about the article itself, just shots from the woods at me. You just keep on proving the truth of how Democrats operate, when confronted with the truth, attack the writer, ignore the article. Thank you for showing how shallow the left is!

Actually, since the only suit I wear is for swimming, I actually fill it out quite well, thank you very much.

But I'm not going to dignify the "how" with a response, because I'm tired of making my case for him against all of these people who claim to know so much more about the whole process than me. It's not worth it. From what I've seen, heard, read, and researched, Obama is the best man for the job. But I'm not here to persuade, I'm here to have a little fun in my spare time.

You're not worth it.
