America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
An Original thought would cause him to have a brain melt down!

This is why An Empty Suit Like Barak Hussein Obama appears to be such a powerful speaker! He has done his home work, or has more than likely had his lackeys do it for him and has copied the speaking patterns of four of the most powerful speakers of the last 65 years. The only Powerful speaker he left out was Adolph Hitler, but I am sure if he thought he could get away with it he would have used Adolf as a role model too!.

Basically he is much like the dummy a ventriloquist holds on his lap while the man does the speaking. If he had an original thought I believe his brain would explode.

1. Hold Out Hope

Like Winston Churchill, Martin Luther King Jr., John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama speaks in the uplifting rhetoric of hope. After his defeat in New Hampshire, Obama’s political oratory was so hopeful he sounded more like a winner than a runner–up. Obama knew a hopeful message would embolden his supporters. In a speech on Jan. 8, 2008, Obama said, “We know the battle ahead will be long. But always remember, no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change… We have been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.” Except when you are running on a platform of pie in the sky politics.

You are the leader people want to believe in. Your customers and employees are bombarded by bad news – the credit crunch, a housing slump, an economic slowdown – but they are eager to hear something positive. That doesn’t mean leaders stick their heads in the sand – far from it. Inspiring leaders acknowledge the situation but also remind people of reasons to be optimistic.

2. Use Rhetorical Devices

Many observers say Obama sounds like King. This is because he uses some of the same techniques that made King an electrifying speaker. Barak Obama is not fit to scratch Kings butt, and King was a liar himself, King for one was not a dr. of anything. His name was not even Martin Luther. King also ripped off the " I have a dream speech" from another pastor!

Parallel structure. We can thank the ancient Greeks for this rhetorical tool – they called it “anaphora.” It simply means repeating the same word or expression at the beginning of successive sentences or phrases. One of the most famous examples is King’s “I Have a Dream” speech. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed…. I have a dream that… I have a dream…” Obama uses the same device frequently. In his Iowa victory speech on Jan. 3, Obama said, “You have done what the cynics said we couldn’t do. You have done what the state of New Hampshire can do in five days. You have done what America can do in this new year.”

Anaphora’s sister technique is called “epistrophe.” It is the repetition of a word or expression at the end of successive sentences or phrases. For example, in Obama’s New Hampshire speech, the expression “Yes, we can” rallied thousands of supporters when used like this, “It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation: Yes, we can. It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail towards freedom through the darkest of nights: Yes, we can. It was sung by immigrants as they struck out for distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness: Yes, we can.”

Alliteration. Both Kennedy and King were fond of this device that strings together words starting with similar sounds. At the 2004 Democratic National Convention keynote speech that brought Obama to prominence, he said, “Do we participate in a politics of cynicism or do we participate in a politics of hope?” In 2005, during a commencement speech at Knox College, Obama described America as “a place where destiny was not a destination, but a journey to be shared and shaped…” When speaking at the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars in August, 2006, Obama proclaimed, “The history of America is one of tragedy turned into triumph.” In January’s New Hampshire speech, Obama used alliteration again: “We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics.” My Sentence would be " We have been lied to by the leader of losers"

Rich Imagery. Persuasive speakers have long understood the power of imagery to stir emotions – the creation of mental pictures through the words. In his 2004 speech, Obama described what he meant by the audacity of hope: “It’s the hope of slaves sitting around a fire singing freedom songs, the hope of immigrants setting out for distant shores, the hope of a young naval lieutenant bravely patrolling the Mekong Delta, the hope of a mill worker's son who dares to defy the odds, the hope of a skinny kid with a funny name who believes that America has a place for him, too.”

3. Exude Confidence

In debates Obama appears unflappable, answering tough questions while maintaining strong eye contact. He doesn’t fidget or shake his head when listening to sharp attacks from his opponents. While seated, he leans slightly forward. People will make an impression of you after only a few seconds. Pay attention to what your body is saying. Communicate confidence, competence, and control. He has been schooled well, I wonder how much money he spent on trying to appear as though he is cool under pressure? I would like to see a debate with heart and blood pressure machines hooked up to the candidates so we can really see who maintains their cool and who is just APPEARING TO BE COOL!

4. Use Dynamic Vocal Delivery

A monotonous speaking style lulls the listener to sleep, regardless of the power of the content. Obama knows how to enhance his delivery. Consider these three aspects of his delivery.

Pacing. Obama varies the speed at which he speaks. Very few sentences are delivered at exactly the same pace.

Volume. In his victory speech after the Iowa caucuses, Obama raised the volume of his speech with each sentence in the following paragraph: “We are one nation. We are one people. And our time for change has come.” Each sentence slightly louder than the one preceding it.

Pauses. Nothing is as dramatic as a well–placed pause, and Obama knows it. He pauses at key moments to make a memorable impact. If only he would pause, period!

Such as refusing to even hear subjects that cast aspersions on members of their own party?

Such as covering up 70,000 dollars found in a freezer by a leading Democrat?

Such as demanding wind power, till it ruined Drunken Ted and Bobby Kennedy's view of Chesapeake Bay?

Sad but true! Too bad they don’t have a good ethical standard. Thiers seems to be one of what ever makes me rich and powerful is ok as long as you don’t do it too.

Two words:Joseph McCarthy

MM posts:
Here we agree, Joe was and is forever a blight on the Parties name

Hello MM,

I know history ever since the 50s has depicted McCarthy as a loathsome figure who supposedly in a witch-hunt falsely named some US state department figures and others as Communists and Soviet agents.

But are you aware, MM, that in 2003 new information (actual transcripts) was released from the files from the early 50's that sheds completely new light on Sen. McCarthy?

Since then, several groundbreaking books have been written, one is Blacklisted by History by M. Stanton Evans, all corroboating the cases McCarthy was making then, the most notorious of Annie Lee Moss and how the truth about it was concealed for 50 years. Anne Coulter defends Mccarthy in her book, Treason. She wrote that at Tehran, FDR ceded Poland to Stalin, and the New Dealers were as soft on Stalin as Neville Chamberlain had been on Hitler. She writes that the FDR-Truman administrations were saturated with traitors and names names.

Evidently there were systematic high level efforts to cover up the facts included in McCarthy's files by an order by Pres. Truman in March 1948. Actual FBI reports informed us about Communists and Soviet agents on federal payrolls as early as Dec. 1942 but nothing was done for more than a decade.

So, after reading these I can't agree with you that McCarthy was a blight on the Republican Party. We should have more like him today...turns out everything the liberals want us to believe about Sen. Joe McCarthy and the McCarthy era is false. He exposed the Communists in the party and that was when the Right was right.

The spectalular series of victories won by Mr Barack Obama, eight in a straight row, raises two questions. How can we expalin his success. And two, what are the lessons to be learnt from the Obama style of political rhetoric and communication. I am surprised that the American media has not started analysing the style and substance of Barack Obama's speeches and public addresses. In mu opinion there is no politician in the English speaking world today who deploys the poetical cadence of the English language more effectively than Obama. Ronald Reagan was known as the "Great Communicator" but he fell far short of Obama for the simple reason Reagan was not interested in fashining his message in the accoutrement of the poetics of the language. For him the film script served as the rhetorical model, but Barack Obama brings to his public messages a vision of hope and fulfillment, a mixture of Biblical sentiments and the hard nosed realities of an America in economic problems. Some people have commented that Barack Obama is tall on rhetoric and short on policy: the exact reverse of Hillary Clinton who is all policy and no dreamworker.

Unlike Martin Luther King jr who spoke in the language and style of a biblical prophet, Barack Obama deliberately avids overt references to biblical themes, but the sub text is hope and expectation and he very astutely places himself right in the middle of the expanding web of hopes hi spins for his audiences. My lifwe is my message: this theme resonately well with the audiences and Barack Obama expands on this at every opportunity. Unlike Hillary Clinton or even John Mccain, Barack Obama is a polished wordssmith. He crafts every sentence into a statement of high principle and thereby taps into the emotional side of his audience. One may be unkind and say that this is only demogogery, but I am not saying that because in his words there is the faint echo of a truth waiting to be heard.

Barack Obama has created a coalition that spans all sections of American society and I think he will sail into the White HOuse if nominated. His support is increasing among white middle class and working class and rural voters and is eating up the base of Clinton's support. This social composition is hard to beat.

I found your post interesting and I too made an attempt at analysiong the Rhetoric of Obama in my blog here and I have post it for ypu.

Obama has a 100% pro-abortion voting record. Where is the hope for the innocent child in the womb? Turns out under Obama the womb is a dangerous place to be.

What success? That he can spin a good Socialist tale? Or tell people what they want to hear whether it's true or reasonable or not. Wasn't Hitler considered a good speaker...didn't he move the masses in much the same way?

The part of Mccarthy's crusade that pissed me off was his unrelenting terrorizing of writers, actors and such..

I did not know about JFK and RFK involvement and stand corrected, funny how that seems to never get mentioned when the Democrats are trashing McCarthy.

Yeah, almost as if it was planned or something.
