I have studied outside the school system for years as well, but I don't claim degrees I don't have. I even have an HONORARY Doctorate (yes, purchased...as a smart aleck response to a jerkhole of a father), so technically, I could, but I have always thought it rather silly!

Your self study does not give you a Master's, no matter how you want to slice it. That is because you've had no barometer with which to measure your success or failure. Not only did you miss the mark WIDELY with your foreign languages (thanks emp!), but you haven't even mastered basic spelling and grammar. As a father who homeschools his children, I am embarassed, jeremiah...because your seriously deficient education does NOT speak well for homeschooling!

You are right, Jeremiah, not all intelligent people have a degree. But not all people without degrees are intelligent either.

I did not state a bold face lie,for I have more weights and balances to measure studying by then most Collage students today,for I have talked to many learned people and they were amazed at the level of knowledge and understanding I have by studying outside the box.

Homeschooling I did not speak against it,but if self teaching your children instead of sending them to school you are by judging me,your judging your homeschooling also,for you are telling me your ashamed because I homeschooled myself but are proud to be homeschooling your children.

My dad and Gran-Pa started me on the path of history,by 7th grade I was allowed to read my outside books after a debate with a teacher,she had a different outlook,and asked where I gained so much understanding and I told her from reading and understanding what I am reading.

The Pastor of the churches I attended tested me from time to time and found to be their equals,and even taught a few of them more about Ezekiel then they themselves knew.

I was a night shift manager of a dominoes pizza,and through watching,paying attention I became the most profitable manager the owner ever had,I ran store numbers he thought he would never hit,we had award winning stores,I became the only magr. he had who could run both of the stores he had.

So my advice is do not knock homeschooling,instead embrace it,for the teachers are plenty and there is so much material of comparison that now you can just hop the internet and balance the material by the Bible and History by Prophecy...
Instead of 1 teacher I have had thousands of teachers,and I learned from every one of them,to all the teachers I have had the pleasure of studying under I salute you...

You do not have a Master's, let alone, multiple Master's, and you should not claim such. Claiming a degree you do not have is lying, Jeremiah, any way you slice it.

It is you, not I, who appears to be the self loathing one. I have always been proud of my children. You're so ashamed by your lack of degrees that you make up degrees you do not have.

And I'm guessing your ordination came online, too. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but at least be honest about it, dude!

So how many on this thread feel homeschooling is worthless,because by teaching your children at home they still have to be tested by a school,and if the school does not recognize homeschooling then all your children have learned becomes garbage right?
Also I do have a Honorary degree also in Divinity,along being ordained as a Pastor after extensive oral testing,along with being ordained as a Rabbi after 6 months of oral testing,so to accomplish is to study....

My daddy got me to looking outside the box,and for a car repair man he had alot of insight on history and goverment,along with religon,and he quit school after pass/failing the 11th grade because the teacher wanted her son to graduate ahead of my dad so she failed him 3 times he quit and went and joined the Armed Forces..

So my advice is to keep looking outside the box for not all teachers I have found are very forth coming in their teachings...So if I am a B.S. artist for not having a paper I know just as many with a paper that are bigger con artists,so who is who...

it seems the only one not lieing around here about his eduction is me. i only have two geds, one high school diploma, and an associates degree in accounting.

you ask why two geds. the first one i got in the army. the second one i got in job corp along with the high school diploma and the associates degree.

i lost the ability to spell in second grade. i never got better than a c in english. except once.

i did most of my homework in class. and in my slumber state right now which is what i am in most of the time i am still smarter than you.

and for those who are calling each other bigots.

i have noticed over the years that the people yelling the loudest about others being bigots are usually the bigger offender.

The difference is that Gid isn't using his "Honorary" degree to prop himself up in the eyes of others. Terry is doing exactly that - using his made-up degree to try and make himself look better - and that's ridiculous.

I never used my knowledge to show any one I am better,just more studied then alot,it was a few of you who made a big deal out of home schooling,and one of those is homeschooling his kids and complaining that I am stupid and unlearned because I homeschooled myself under thousands of history teachers and thousand of supposed authorities on faith.

I just make mention only when challanged that I have studied for 30 yrs and if i would have had degrees for all i studied i can paper my room with them,3 truck driving schools,telecommunications repair,roofing,hands on business degree been tested by dominoes,so just because someone did not go to collagte does not make them stupid,I know alot of collage grads that have no clue to how the real world functions from the lack of hands on experience.

I have had to train a few of them to be my boss,but they just got the basics because they had a paper and a attitutde....

Like the Social Security Judge found out,I have done so many different type jobs that I ran out of work I can do because my disability keeps dragging me down,so nowadays I have more time to do more studying..

Homework,who had homework,the only homework i had was a project in history and a term theme which I scored a B+,oh forgot the semester when the teacher put the semesters work on the chalkboard and I finished all of it,both classes,biology and physical science in 2 weeks,the teacher was in shock for no student ever in her class showed this type of dedication,I had 2 months and 1 week of nothing to do and had a b+ in her class..
