America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~

There seems to be the opinion the Al Qaeda is the single biggest threat to America. I say Bologna! Hezbollah is much more trained, funded and has a much larger and in your face following than Al qaeda has ever had, the only thing Al Qaeda has going for it is the name, and Osama Bin Laden AKA Cave dweller, He dares not to even show his face in public, while the leader of Hezbollah lives the life of comfort in Lebanon, thumbing his nose at the west and Israel.

In your opinion which of the terror groups is the most dangerous, there are so many to chose from:

Terror Groups

Abu Sayyaf
Al Fuqra
Al Gama'at Islamiyya
Al Muhajiroun
Al Qaeda
Algerian Armed Islamic Group
Algerian Islamic Salvation Front
American Islamic Group
Hamas
Hezbollah
Islamic Jihad
Islamic Liberation Party
ISNA
Jamaat e-Islamia
Jamaat ul-Fuqra
Mara Salvatruchas
Muslim Brotherhood
National Islamic Front
Yemen Islamic Jihad

all the above are known terror orginazations and are listed among known terror groups by American Intelligence.

Then there are the NATIONS that support terrorism, either sheltering them or financing them, giving them intelligence or arming them, Which Nation would you say is the biggest threat to America?

  • Flag of Cuba Cuba - Added in 1982 though no official explanation was provided. A 2003 report contended that Cuba supported terrorist groups during the period it was added to the report. Current justification cites support for members of Basque ETA and the Colombian Farc  and ELN groups. Conversely, Cuba has accused the United States of supporting, sponsoring and initiating Terrorism against Cuba since 1961. Those who oppose Cuba's retention on the list contend that Cuba has made repeated offers to the United States since 2001 for a bilateral agreement to fight international terrorism, but the United States has not responded Critics also argue that domestic political considerations are responsible and question many of the allegations made in the State department report
  • Flag of Iran Iran- Added in1984 According to the State Department, "continued to provide Lebanese Hezbollah and the Palestinian rejectionist groups—notably Hamas Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the PFLP-GC —with varying amounts of funding, safe haven, training, and weapons. It also encouraged HEZBOLLAH and the rejectionist Palestinian groups to coordinate their planning and to escalate their activities."
  • Flag of North Korea NORTH KOREA- Added in 1988  Sold weapons to terrorist groups and to have given asylum to Japanese Communist League-Red Army Faction members. The country is also responsible for the Rangoon Bombing and the bombing of Kal Flight 858
  • Flag of Sudan SUDAN - Added in 1993 "A number of international terrorist groups including Al-Qaeda , the Egyptian Islamic Jihad, Egyptian Al-Gama's al-, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and Hamas  continued to use Sudan as a safe haven, primarily for conducting logistics and other support activities."
  • Flag of SyriaSyria - "provided Hezbollah, Hamas, PFLP-GC, the PIJ, and other militia organizations refuge and basing privileges."

And these comments are really appreciated, thanks. So, let's stop dabbling in sentimentalities, and back to business. Someone else has any intelligent counter to the proposals that have been said earlier, or wants to add more data to the discussion?

I don't. It's been pretty much beaten to death, toyed with, played with, taken seriously, NOT taken seriously, the whole gamut.

If they are not paying their income taxes to Canada if their official adress in here, then they have no rights to use the system we pay for.

Actually, it's a socialist idea. And communism is inspired by it. the U.S. citizen seem brainwash to qualify as "communism" anything that looks like wealth redistribution, with it's negative overtone inherited by the cold war.

Yes you are right the idea stems from socialism however the one who is promoting it and HOW they are promoting it leads me to believe they want tyranny but through the disguise of wealth redistribution. My concern comes from my studies of Lenin and Stalin.

I see in Hillary similar tendencies that Stalin had. This may seem like a biased view but I still see it this way. I can easily see Hillary if elected pres. create a tyrannical state under the name of Socialism (hence my reference to communism). Stalin especially after WWII would have people murdered just because. Maybe an extreme comparison but in light of this article I think we have more to fear internally then we do about external attacks with a significant portion of our population content in apathy.

Talk about getting overwhelmed with information. This is great stuff. As MM said, it's great to get a perspective from outside.

I, too, agree that corruption can be found from both sides. One side is not more evil than the other. We may call Democrats ignorant or down right moronic, but they most likely see Republicans in the same manner.

About Russia: It only makes sense to ally yourself with those who are growing. Especially now that the US finds itself struggling to get anything remotely close to a connection with the Muslim and Arab world; Russia can definitely see an advantage on this. My enemies enemy is my friend I guess you can say, but how often does something like this backfires? I guess it's a chance their willing to take, one we may want to consider as well. Interesting to see how often Russia tends to side with those who are in conflict with the US while calling themselves our allies. Cuba, Iraq and now Iran.

This is true MM. However to Cikomyr's credit he/she is the first one to actually have an intelligent conversation with. Most who disagree usually withdraw back to Liberal talking points at which is no longer a 'debate' but rather a frivolous comment exchange. I am always eager to learn more about other perspectives in a respectful manner.

My biggest fear is that politicians no longer work for the people. It's about payback for all the times the opposing party voted against on of their bills or all the bills passed by the opposing party that they fought with all their strength but still lost. This isn't about the people anymore, it's about payback. The people are just to get them there by lies, deceit, confusion, fear and money.

This is very true NO MATTER your party affiliation. Both sides have been destructive here. Lies, Deceit, Confusion ah yes now you've hit one of my sore spots. Colorado has a senator that ran as a moderate but votes as a socialist!!!

I recall the line in the movie Gladiator where Caesar is telling Maximus to give Rome back to the people. Interesting parallel to our House of Non-Representative n Congress (opposite of progress)!

The perfect example was John Murtha, telling another Congressman " you better never try to put any earmarks on a bill" after this congressman raised hell about a huge earmark Murtha wanted, not only was it a direct threat to the congressman it is against House rules to do so, when the republicans wanted to bring it to the floor of the House of representatives NAMBLA NANCY denied the request of even discussing the issue. So much for We {Democrats} will run a fair House. It really is all about power, revenge on BOTH sides of the aisle, it could be a soap opera if it was not so damn damaging to the American people. A pox on both parties and both houses in Congress!1

I have to admit Cikomyr has brought a lot to this particular table.

I mean just look at what is happening with every good bill brought to Congress and the Senate. The CHIP program, Defense Budget, money for the farmers. All good bills but every one of them tainted by Democrats wanting to add more than they should. The CHIP program made specifically for children as the name suggest being turned into universal healthcare for adults even if they don't have kids. Defense budget that could have helped the US soldiers riddles with earmarks. And the farmers bill that would give more than needed. But just like they did with the war funding bill, apart from it being good and needed, it was used against Bush to make him look as if he was not helping our soldiers when in reality it was adding a time table that they knew Bush would veto. This was not about helping our soldiers or trying to find other ways to get what they want, this was about making Bush look bad, and it worked. How can you play with things like this? Sacrifice children for the sake of winning the 2008 elections.

Well between being told how uneducated my replies were and having Cikomyr reply so nicely to col, I find myself trying harder to make more educated replies and to not allow myself to fall under what AD called "a frivolous comment exchange" that goes nowhere except name calling. If only more debates went on as interesting as this one where not everyone agreed completely and were willing to listen.

since Cikomyr is a resident of Canada I would think he knows more than you or I do about the inner workings of their health care system and who qualifies for it.

It's kind of refreshing to find someone that disagrees in a well mannered way {for the most part} but no doubt when you bring it to  Cikomyr  you better bring it right or be prepared to get tongue lashed.
