America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
Published on July 30, 2006 By Moderateman In War on Terror

If you use terms like "disproportionate response" after all isn't that the idea? to overwhelm the enemy?

If you weep about the Lebanese "civilians deaths" while ignoring the rockets and missiles and Ieds that kill innocent civilians in Israel.

Really think that somehow it is wrong for Israel to defend herself as SHE SEES FIT, when attacked with no provocation.

I have been reading the articles here for a couple days now and am amazed that so many here are undercover and sometimes not so under cover out and out Jew-haters. It is almost like the holocaust never happened. For thousands of years it has been the thing to do, hate Jews and be smug about it.

I really do not care if you hate me because I am a Jew that refuses to play by your rules, the fact that you play by one set and we Jews must play by another.

No we are not going to go away, we will continue to bomb what you call innocent people that allow themselves to be used as staging platforms for terrorist attacks.

I will gladly name names if I need to, but..... you know who you are, now just own up to it, you hate Jews, be proud of your hatred, step right out there and stop hiding.

Reminds me of the story of the family who offered a $2500 reward for anyone who found their lost dog. Every month the dog goes missing, and every month someone brings it back and collects the money.

good point!

You only read what you want. I have said that the actions aginst Israel are unjustified. However this war is over the capture of three soldiers. The death and damage caused by Israel is out of line with the incident. Almmost EVERY World Leader has said that what Israel has done has gone much too far. When this is over, Israel and the United States will have even more Moslems that hate us! GREAT SOLUTION!!!!

Your claim is based on what? I asked you to recognize that people were murdered, raped, and bombs have been going at Israel for many years. You have YET to recognize this. I already have read your post. YOU CANNOT ACKNOWLEDGE OURS! All I am asking from you COL is to acknowledge that this is MORE than just about three soldiers. The three soldiers I'll admit are the straw that broke the camel's back and they took action. But this decision has been long in the making. All I want from you Col is to admit this fact.

Sorry Col this isn't coming from your beloved MSM.

Please go back and reread the initial reports of July 12th. This is not all there is to it. Hezbollah captured two soldiers and then killed eight others that came to their rescue. They crossed an internationally and UN recognized border to do this. It was an unprovoked attack. Immediately after kidnapping the Israeli soldiers and killing the other eight they began lobbing missiles at towns and kibutzim in northern Isreal, targeting civilians only. Then came Israel's reaction.

The way Israel is acting is just like they have acted for the past 50 years.Have these actions solved the problems in the Middle-East? The actions of Israel created Hezbollah after they attacked Lebanon in 1982. Israel and the U.S. do not learn from what we do! We are creating a new crop of people that will try another 9/11 or worse.

So Col are you condoning the actions of kidnapping, rape, and the murder of Israelies?

I'm beginning to doubt the prudence of even allowing the Col a venue for his knee-jerk, single mode opinions. Since you can predict what they will be 100% of the time, exactly the opposite of the Bush administration, is there really any need in hearing them?

You could say colGene = !bush but that's bad programming since "!bush" would be the state in which there is no bush value, thus no colGene value. That can't really be so, because at first glance Col Gene's ideals can be defined by anything that would be left over from the whole if Bush's policies were deleted, even if that means there's no policy at all.

I was debating calling him "unBush", but I think I have settled on "notBush", but that doesn't work, either, because that means that col gene exists in the absence of Bush, when we all know that Col Gene can only thrive in an environment wherein there IS a Bush. Despite the impossibility of the statement, I'd have to say col gene is defined as:

colGene =!bush

A paradoxical impossibility where the value defines itself by the non-existence of the other value, yet relies upon the existence of that value for its existence. I need to blog on this, I think...

By what you say you are saying that Israel should just continue to tolerate the constant attacks. That is SUCH BS! THESE PEOPLE WANT ISRAEL IRRADICATED. There is not peace with them.

I have never, not once, said that Israel should tolerate constant attacks. I have never, not once, said that Hezbollah isn't intent on Israel's destruction. Frankly I don't care what happens to Hezbollah. I simply consider it foolish and counterproductive to wage a war which will only result in the creation of a new generation of enemies and won't destroy Hezbollah anyway.

By giving warnings Israel could have created a defensible position for moderates and pro-westerners in Beirut and elsewhere. But they didn't, and the many deaths of civilians make Israel yet again appear a monster in the eyes of the Lebanese people. Surely even you can see that is counterproductive to the task at hand?

The aim of war should not be to create an enemy to fight against in the future, it should be to win. Therefore if you're going to kill large numbers of civilians you should plan to kill all of them. If you're going to try and take the high moral road and claim victimship then a front (whether false or not) of being compassionate and caring about the rare victim (ie those too stupid to run away) would help greatly.
