America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
SIMPLE SOLUTIONS

There is a reason for the energy crunch and it sure ain't Bush!

There is a reason we have not built new nuclear power plants in the last 35 years, and it sure ain't Bush!

There is a reason we have not built new refineries to make gas in the last 35 years and it sure ain't Bush!!

It's called the Democratic parties constant obstruction of anything that might help the countries energy crunch.

Liberal greenpeaces more worries about a spotted owl than Americans.

Liberal save the earth while people starve.

All of Americas ills can be placed at the feet of liberals and there silly "we know whats best" attitude.

The Oil companies do not set the price of oil. The free market does. Not even communist China can dictate what the price of a barrell will be, they can only influence the price at the pump through fees and taxes.

Okay I agree with you on speculation Doc. I just don't understand the volatile oh gas. This isn't a small market this is HUGE. Just to me seems to go against economic principles. I am just trying understand how we came to where we are. That's all.

Are the constant price fluctuations due to gov't taxes or cost of oil?

Government taxes increase the price of a gallon of gas. They don't make it fluctuate, since the tax rates are set by legislation.
Um, you do realize the "Colbert Report" exists to mock Republicans, right?

Of course I know that. Stephen Colbert spent the whole 4 minute interview mocking his neocon guest by agreeing with him on almost all points.

And I am a Republican, yet I cannot turn away... But it was a great statement, nevertheless. Truth spoken in jest is always funnier.

We Americans are spoiled when it comes to gasoline prices. We're so used to being "special" that we get all kinds of upset when things don't go our way. Everyone else in the world pays twice as much (if not more) than we do for gas, yet we scream the loudest when we start feel the pinch too.

Use less.

Better get used to it, too, because no matter which party holds power in America, China and India are now competing for the same resources. We love capitalism until it adversely affects us. Oil will go to the highest bidder, either we're willing to be the highest bidder, or we're going to have to learn to do without.

Fact of life, folks.

As long as the government is the biggest price gouger in the oil market, no one can complain about any gouging at all.

By the way, (for you curious souls) I have been contacted by the Administration of this site, and pronounced fit to participate.

Those of you who don't like it, you know where your blacklist button is, I suggest you use it.

Is this better Dr Guy?

Want cheaper gas?
Dump the
Have it your way,
that's what I say

Do you all NOT realize that if we collectively decreased our consumption 20%, we'd have the oil companies over a barrel and the prices would drop sharply? Drop it 50%, and they'll be begging you to buy it.

It simply takes efforts on ALL of our parts. Ridesharing (to errands as well as to work), turning off the A/C, limiting trips in our cars, driving 55 mph, and keeping our cars tuned up (all the things they advised us in the 70's to "save the planet" are all things we can do to reduce consumption. But do we have the guts for it?

The only places I KNOW pay much more is Europe. I know in Central Asia it is lower.

Gideon you're right and it may come to that if prices keep going up. But you and I BOTH know that people value 'convenience' too much for that one to be viable. The price of fuel hasn't exceeded that value yet. Once it does it will reverse quickly.

Personally I havent' seen any reason to care if you were here or not. You don't post original articles, you just seem like a mindless sniper and a troll.

If the powers that be at JU deem you "Fit" that is their problem... and shame

Charles that's just too funny.

I don't know you at all and since you already gave an attitude the first time I see you, I could care less if you here or not. I don't want to know how low you went to get back in here but oh well.

I hope it lives up to Dr Guy's expectations. I almost cracked when I first saw it, talk about a made in heaven match.

You don't post original articles,

I haven't been ABLE to. Each time I try, I get a message "JU is making some changes to its database, try back again soon."

Trust me, I'd love to be able to host my own blog, if only to avoid some of the hostilities fomented by people who insist I am somone else. The geeks are looking into it, and hopefully it will be resolved soon.

I don't know you either, so why so hostile? (This is what i'm talking about!) How low I went to get back in here? I never left, dude, I just lurked for a year. Haven't you ever signed up for something that you didn't use much at first, only to develop an interest in it at a later date?

I won't hijack this thread, so I'll just say this: Have a nice day. Or don't. Your choice!

Me hostile? From your own mouth:

Don't throw rocks and expect everyone to not throw back.

Haven't you ever signed up for something that you didn't use much at first, only to develop an interest in it at a later date?

That makes no sense to me, I would never sign up for something I'm not interested in. If I develope an interest later on then I will gladly join.

Look, you're the one with issues here.

You're the one who's acting as if you somehow got yourself removed and then excepted again. You're the one who seems to have some in here dislike you. You picked a Bush article to proclaim your return with Admin permission instead of making your own article which you are now free to make. Sounds kinda a dumb move to me, but that's just my opinion. It's not smart to anounce yourself to the world that "I am here whether you like it or not" as you first words on someone elses blog. Talk about a bad first impression, I don't know you and did a great job at making me dislike you already. Gotta wonder why you find people here so hostile.
