Actually on a serious note I would like to see someone from the left put together a realistic policy summary.

One that doesn't involve "We're against what they're for."

That would tickle me to no end to have both parties with a vision and plans to implement them.

What you speak of here is what frustrates me the most about the idiot politicians that we have in this country.

Much the same as the last presidential election where we had a sitting Senator (John F. Kerry) running against the sitting President. At least with the sitting President we had a recent list of accomplishments, but on the other side all we heard was promises of plans that weren't really fleshed out.

Those in congress wind up making promises and paying lip-service to grandiose plans to solve this problem or that problem, but then when they are called upon to actually push a bill in congress they disappear completely.

If these folks have such great ideas and such perfect solutions when they are running for higher offices, why are they not able to enact those plans when they are in the offices that have the responsibility? Oh, yeah, sorry, I forgot. It's not about actually getting anything done, it's about promising you are going to do something and then never delivering on the promise because once you do deliver the voters won't need you anymore.

It's the "Argument Sketch" all over again...

M: An argument isn't just contradiction.
A: It can be.
M: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
A: No it isn't.
M: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
A: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
M: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
A: Yes it is!
M: No it isn't!
A: Yes it is!
M: Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of any statement the other person makes.
(short pause)
A: No it isn't.

Sound like the democratic responses to Bush/Republican policies of the last couple of years?

The democrats still haven't figured out that the biggest reason they lost control of Congress and the White House twice was NO Discernible message!

and stick their collective heads in the sand and hide from the harsh reality we are at war.

Kind of like when we were kids and would hide under the covers to protect ourselves from the boogey man.
