America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
Another peace making move By George Bush
Published on October 3, 2005 By Moderateman In US Domestic
In another reaching out to the never satisfied left wing, President Bush once again shows his greatness by choosing a candidate that will be satisfactory to the lunatic fringe and the center of the Republican party.

By choosing Miers, President Bush is hoping to heal some wounds in America and American politics.

Once again President Bush shows his willingness to compromise, a trait that has thus far eluded the left wing.

By linking the above link you will see impeccable credentials, a long distinguished career, not only in private practice but experience in the internals of the American government.

Will anyone from the left be satisfied with this choice? Only time will tell. Somehow I think not ,as the left is never satisfied nor willing to understand how great George Bush truly is.

Thank you and good night my friend.  And to all my friends on JU.  Even the ones I am in disagreement with tonight.

You champion "moderation" as if it is absolutely virtuous. It isn't. Moderation is relatively virtuous, insofar as a relates to a particular issue. Are you moderately anti-terrorist? Moderately anti-pedophilia? Moderately anti-murder?

Using a label to describe yourself as moderate isn't going to win you anything, especially when it concerns an effort to appeal to the left. People aren't stupid. All they have to do is know where you stand on something. They'll be able to determine for themselves whether you are a moderate. Show them the destructiveness of liberalism and the left-wingers. That's how you appeal to a liberal. You won't convince an left-wing ideologue, but you won't have to.

no I do not champion moderation, I am moderate, I do not push my views on others and think both lunatic fringes are nuts. I can care less if I appeal to the left, the only thing I want from them is to stop the partisan crap{the right too} and work together to rebuild america.

How do you "rebuild America" when one party's platform includes multiculturalism, socialism, and anti-American self-loathing? I'm interested in how you feel this could be accomplished through cooperation.

Great Article MM!

While I don't think Prs. Bush gains anything by reaching out to the left, I really don't see him doing so here.

Many conservatives were looking forward to a far right nominee. Well, if he had have found the far right's answer to Justice Ruth "Buzzie" Ginsberg, how many Republican Senators would he have been able to count on to back him? While the Senate Democrats are willing to walk in lockstep and show no ability to represent their states over their party, many Senate Republicans have proven that they can think for themselves.

What kind of slam would it have been for the Republicans in general if Prs. Bush had have gone for the fight... but because he doesn't hold all the Senate Republicns in his pocket... ended up with egg on his face?

Does the far right want a nominee who won't legislate from the bench? Or merely someone who will legislate from the "right" of the bench?

first thanx ted, high praise indeed.

second the loons on the far right want more than anything to get abortion overturned, and while I abhor abortion I defend a womans right to choose even if I disagree with their choice.
