With one swipe of the pen George Bush became the top LIBERAL , all this money being spent on entitlements!

Billions of dollars being wasted on the refugees from hurricane Katrina!

When will this stop?

As usual this most LIBERAL of Presidents has his priorities all screwed up, This will raise the deficit to new highs and it will be up to our great great great grandchildren to pay this enormous debt off.

How can this be fair to our childrens, children's, children's?

Passing what is now over 60 billion dollars to repair a corrupt city with many more billions to come.

Now he is going to GIVE AWAY LAND to the refugees, precious federal land, and help the poor to get no interest loans to build their homes on all at the expense of the taxpayer!!

Bush who presented himself as a conservative has obviously betrayed the trust of those that voted for him.

George Bush will go down in the annals of history as one of the most LIBERAL Presidents ever.

Only a true LIBERAL President could spend this much money on entitlements.

Ya know MM, ya make a decent point here.

There are those that keep crying that W. is only interested in handouts and tax-cuts for the rich, and yet W. has created the biggest federal entitlement by way of a Prescription Drug Benefit, has created the No Child Left Behind hand-out for schools (though it requires meeting specific goals and standards), and is handing out hundreds of billions to rebuild Iraq, Afghanistan, and New Orleans.

It's certainly a lot of federal spending, and definitely comes from someone that many believed was a very conservative individual (especially in the way of spending....)

Whats amazes me is he just keeps helping the poor, what about us rich folks? all we do is pay and pay and pay some more.

His name should be ROBIN BUSH, HE STEALS FROM THE RICH AND JUST gives it away to the poor.

I refuse to comment on a rich versus poor issue, I just can't win those. I'll have Tex telling me about how she can raise her kids on $.32 a day and litte whip will be talking about how bad she is kicking my ass.

Bush is liberal on some issues like illegal imigration, for example, but to criticize him for spending money on the recovery from a natural disaster is totally something else. I find it pretty extreme that you care more about not reducing your wealth than helping people who are now in a situation they were never prepared for. I consider myself a conservative, but a mainstream one and far from exteme.

Actually, he is too liberal. The Republicans of the Reagan era and after have lost their way. That doesn't mean they aren't a damn sight better than anything else offered, but still, they are way too liberal, way too big government.

P.S. eric, your insipid crap is bad enough on one blog, don't drag it to another.

Actually, I agree that Bush has been too fiscally liberal.

On this we agree, Tex.

It's called "buying some black votes."

Whip, you took the words out of my mouth. When I had a co-worker tell me that the federal response was slow because the residents were poor and black, I said no, politicians only think of elections or re-elections, The republican party would love a chance to get a handle on the poor, black vote.

He's ultra conservative compared to the voice of the Democrats. Just listening to Phill Donahue spew his garbage last night made me sick, blah, but I degress. Today's liberal conservative is 1000% better than a "moderate" democrate.
