America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
For male lead I pick Anthony Hopkins, his many films and diverse roles earn him greatest male lead of all times.

His over 97 films include the chilling Hannibal Lecter from silence of the lambs and a powerful portrail as the father in Legends of the Fall.

For female lead I have to step backwards into time, Katherine Hepburn is by far the greatest female actor of all times, she could handle comedy and drama with equal flair.

Katherine is the only 4 times Oscar winner . She made over 50 films.

one can only hope susan and tim robbin choose not to breed.

Um, guys? They have two sons, ages 16 and 13. But if it's any comfort, she's almost 60, so any further reproduction is unlikely.

You can be a horror master when you want to be!  UGH!  Why would robbins be so desperate?

Oh, wait, he is that stupid! No one else would want him!

'ok furry.. charles I can get behind but, holly hunter? come on!'

Personal preference is a hard thing to qualify. That said, what I like about Holly Hunter (and others for that matter - eg. Debra Winger) is that she becomes so immersed in each individual role you could be forgiven for failing to notice it was the same actor. Compare to, say, Jack Nicholson, John Wayne, even (much that I like her) Katherine Hepburn etc. Not that they aren't excellent at what they do, but they rarely play characters other than themselves, albeit superficially disguised.

I get your point... in the old days roles were tailored for the actor, now days the actor becomes the role.

great point and I agree.

Robert DeNiro is the greatest actor of all time

I go with Humohery Bogard anf Ingrid Bergman. I feel that these two made great movies and their on screen chemisty was perfect. Bruce Willis is good but he is effective only in the "mascho" roles. Somehow I did not care too much for Anthony Hopkins as Lector though Sharon Stone was simply fab.
