America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
5 out of 9 does it everytime.

Now we can see the importance of having more conservatives on the supreme court, the liberal wing of the court, just hijacked america once again.

Now anytime a fat cat wants some property, they pay off someone and poof,, eminent domain strikes.

This is another slap in the face of the american people, no longer is your home safe from fraud, robbery or politicians.

GIMMEE THAT HOME is now the new thing to fear, no longer is a persons home their castle, lowering the draw bridge will not work, we are under seige from the liberals, they plan to take over by force if necessary.

Reply By: InfoGeekPosted: Thursday, June 23, 2005I read an article from Slate on this in Feb. and thought, no way the family would lose. I mean we're not talking a bridge, bypass, etc. It's a shopping mall, or some such. I can just imagine how a guy who owns a few acres near prime commercial land must feel. IG

shopping mall and office building , riverfront property

Ya know, mm, I really take umbrage at your misplaced hatred of liberals. In fact, I'm rather sick of your constant trash talking. When I read the article earlier today, I thought the decision really sucked. The only way one can remotely compensate a homeowner is to give em some stock or a piece of the company that will be planted on top of what was once their home. I'm a liberal. So, my advice to you is go play in traffic.

My advice to you would be to go sit in a corner and exercise your right or left hand excitedly in an up and down motion! You don't like the article? Then by God, DON'T read it!

Hey MM...whadya think of the reply?

I thought Conservatives were supposed to be in the pocket of corporate America. Or is it just that promoting "Big Government" trumps "protecting the rights of the little guy"?

What is wrong with people who don't check the top 10 recent articles?

I've always thought this attitude was B.S.

I don't care if 20 people write the same bloody article. It's their blog to do with as they please. "Gee, the NYT covered this, Nashville Courier. What the hell are you doing writing about it?" Give me a break.

My friends lost their home to eminent domain YEARS ago, when the state wanted to put through a highway. They were paid a "reasonable" amount for their home which was less than they'd probably gotten if they'd sold it on the market, but nonetheless lost it. Also, my father-in-law has been fighting ED attempts to take his property for some time. Welcome to America.
