America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
My Opinion.

Sometime I get the sense that some people think that it’s ok to tear someone apart
As long as they don’t swear, you know the typical “go f*88 yourself”.

Well I am here to tell you that “would you please fornicate with a baboon” while all flowery and proper is still hurtful and a cuss as far as I am concerned.

To say to a person that they are a complete idiot is bad but is it any less bad than tacking on you moron at the end of thought?

To disagree is the path to knowledge, but I have learned recently {here} that the use of tact is all to often ignored {by me too}.

There are ways to disagree and make your point {baker and philo good examples} with out resorting to questioning the parentage, lineage and mental status of the person in question.

Perception is everything I can see, for anyone to think that what we see here of people are the sum total of all they are, is folly.

Read the following sentences and choose the one that is “least” hurtful.

You can go f&&& yourself, Motherf***er, eat s&&& and die.

Would you mind having sex with your mother, while consuming fecal matter and expiring?

While one is crass and filled with apparent venom, the other is proper use of English and not so “in your face” yet both say the same thing.

I hope my point is made and if not “consume excrement and breath no more.”

I think the second one is pretty funny. It sounds like something a proper English gentleman would say.

"Cuss" is actually "Curse." A curse is like in witchcraft, for instance. (As a Buffy fan should know.)

Thank you.

I'm assuming this was in part, if not wholly, inspired by my comparison of your article to Gid's, where, in my opinion, the meaning was the same, but one was offensive while the other was not. My apologies if I'm wrong, but I will respond assuming the latter sentence.

I don't think this is the same case as the one of the two articles. In both of the examples that you use, the listener is encouraged to do things that are either repugnant, unenjoyable, or both. No matter what words you use, the meanings remain equal, and both are venomous, in my opinion, despite one being more uncouth.

The difference in the two articles was a difference in the thing being attacked. One singled out a race, while one singled out a popular culture. They were both discussing the same issue, and making the same point, but they were not saying the same thing, nor did they mean the same thing.

Again, my apologies if I'm giving myself too much credit here, or making a connection that doesn't exist between two different articles. I have no interest in keeping the argument going, so feel free to delete this if you want.

I have been known to lose my temper and call someone an idiot, jerk, stupid, and perhaps a donkey excavation.  However, i do try to refrain from calling into question ones lineage or to predict their longevity.

I suppose I will as my beast sneaks through at times. But I will be more mindful that these things can sting and not lend itself to the debate at hand.

Yeah, but it would be easier for me to laugh at the second one, even if it was directed at me.

I have been trying to calm my personal monster also, but time to time "it" sneaks out and wrecks havoc.

I say "kill 'em w/ kindness"... when i'm around a bunch of people that i really don't like, or if i'm just indifferent to 'em, i'll repeatedly tell them how great they are, and how much I love working with them (for example).

Sometimes they can detect the sarcasm, other times they can't... either way, i don't really give an excrement.

Like George Carlin said, "shoot is shit with two O's..." The intent and motive is there, it's just a way to fool yourself into thinking you ain't so bad when in reality you are. And maybe, I dare say, worse because of the hypocrisy.

I have tried the k.e.w.k. approach, does not work for me.

now that is exactly what gets to me.. someone you KNOW does not like you, hate you matter of fact,, telling you all about yourself
in "flowery terms" but cutting you down at the same time, and not even willing to see what they are doing is bad.

So, what your saying is, I shouldn't reword someone else's curse upon me to an invitation to go do something only possible among hermaphrodites? But it's so much more fun saying it that way! ;~D
