America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
Where have you lived?
Published on April 21, 2005 By Moderateman In History
I have wondered if Americans are a nomadic culture, I am 58 years old and here is where I have lived {for more than 30 days}

New York State
Washington State
Ohio
Michigan
Oregon
California
Colorado
Florida
New jersey
Japan
Vietnam {south}
The Philippines

How about you? Remember the rules 30 days or more as a resident not a visitor

Reply By: Dr. GuyPosted: Friday, April 22, 2005if yer ever out this way doc... do drop in, and that is not an idle invite.My Wife and I go out to Imperial Valley about 2-3 times a year. We are headed there in September for her Nephews wedding, but that will be in the Staples center in LA, so we will be both there and the Valley. Dont know where you are located, but i seem to remember it is not the coast. HOw close would either of those 2 be?

Reply By: Helix the IIPosted: Friday, April 22, 2005Thanks to all the moving, I really appreciate being in one spot and wish to settle down for good in a small community. I've my fair share of big cities where faces are always anonymous, military installations where you never become friends with anybody.. because everyone's movin in a few years, anyways..

The last 15 years of my life I have lived in 2 places, the town of sonoma and now rio vista, I figure if my health goes well I might have one more move in me, New zealand or tasmania, if we go to tasmania I get to be the new Errol Flynn. lol

My mom was tribel, in Turkey, they moved everything, animals, tents, children, on and on.

That must have been quite a move whenever you guys moved. While we haven't been to that many states as residents, my family and I have moved quite a few times within each state, always in search of better accommodations. When we find that, we usually stay for up to 3 years. Basically I've realized that we move every 3 -3 1/2 years. Since being here in Florida we've moved once and have now been in our current residence for 2 years now. And yes, we plan to move again at some point in the future so it's not permanent!

Yes, a couple places are listed more than once. That's because I moved away then came back and moved to a different town. I'm 33, and have always considered myself nomadic.

Yes, as have I. My "travelling" name (when we do hippie music fests, etc), is "rambler", often proceeded by the name of the state i9n which I currently reside (from "wisconsinrambler" to "nevadarambler" to the current "texasrambler"). I took the name, for those taking notes, from the Tom Paxton song "Ramblin' Boy".
