Admitting you are not perfect and moving on
Published on March 20, 2005 By Moderateman In Philosophy
Seems like some people here in Joe user land think they are perfect, Jesus like if I may venture a guess.

This trait is not a moderate trait; it seems to run rampant AMONG SOME OF THE LIBERALS HERE THOUGH.

I can see I am wrong sometimes {my flames with DABE} correct it and move on.

I can see I was wrong about the spaying and neutering post and eliminated it.

I hope to never be so perfect in my own eyes or heart that I think I never mis-step, say something bad or make mistakes.

Anyone that thinks they are right 100% of the time is deluding himself or herself. {LIBERALS MOSTLY}

NO it’s not flip-flopping to study a subject, admit your wrong and change things.

Flip flopping {a liberal high art} is when in the course of one conversation you change your mind in diametrically opposed directions over and over, thinking you know best and the people are idiots.

Apologies to anyone that I offended on that post.

No, it's not.  However, some people see it as weakness, and you're going to be wrong no matter what you do.  I apologized for a comment I made about reservists recently, and people still found fault with that...apparently I only did it because someone else wrote a rebuttal article.

I can't win, ModMan.  I really can't.

I thought I was reading a bit of insanity when I got to that spaying and neutering post. It really scared me to think how you could post that. However, you took back what you said and deleted the post, and you even wrote up this short article as an informal apology. I won't hold it against you because we all make mistakes. At least you knew when to repent it.

Thanks for eliminating that post lil bro!... It's posts like those that give ammunition to the mindless idiots that lurk here mostly as annonymous posters.
Slowly, slowly you might get as perfect as I am

Flip Flopping is taking both sides of an issue without admitting one was wrong.  You cannot be flip flopping for rethinking an issue, deciding your first course of action was wrong, and changing.

But 'posting for a cause before you posted against it' is flip flopping.  Glad you dont do that!

There's a difference between flip-flopping and changing your mind. Someone who decides they were wrong about something admits that they were wrong.

A flip-flopper just tries to contort his previous stance so it LOOKS like that his new stance is what he always really believed.

Like saying you voted for something before you voted against it, etc.

P.S. I hope everyone votes trolling on trollish posts like #7. It doesn't speak to the article, it doesn't add insight, it is just an tourette's syndrome-esque need to dig; a knee-jerk response with no brain behind it.

I call on everyone to vote trolling on such posts, whether they be mine, or anyone elses.
