But I accept your basic premise with a proviso. It DID give the left an edge. The Internet and Cable negated it. Now they are just another biased news source, like Blogs and Talk Radio.

Many reporters voting for Demcorats does not prove that the media has a liberal bias. What goes on the news or is printed is decided by editors and executives who are ususally conservative. This does not mean that the conservative executives always force their opinions by slanting the news they broadcast; rather it shows that if there is any bias in the news, its is caused by the executives, not the reporters.

There is no liberal media bias to the extent the right always amplifies it. CNN, CBS, MSNBC all talked about swift vets. There is always going to be a certain amount of personal bias in any person, but where the real bias is in entertainment. They will run any story that involves confrontation. Does any news source actually talk about the issues? Do they talk about anything but polls and present any sort of information about issues that hasn't gone thru the spin ringer?

That is not my point. Before the Internet and Talk Radio (circa 1988), all we had was the liberal side of media. Now we do have both, so people can listen/read to both sides (my top 2 sites are CNN and Fox) and decide for themselves.

Given that the Liberal side is the long entrenched and established side, that is what is referred to as MSM. And many of them stil deny the emergence of the other medium.
