Stormbringers going to get you!

There are five books in the “ELRIC” saga written by Michael Moorcock.

The premise is Elric a sorcerer emperor of a defunct empire, called Melnibone that once ruled the seas and the world.

What interesting about this is Elric is an albino, very weak in physical strength, moderately powerful in spells and such.
Here’s where it get good, he has a Sword called Stormbringer, {my old screen name} and the sword is sentient, aware.

Whenever Elric uses Stormbringer to slay someone, Stormbringer steals the soul of the person and the physical life force is transferred to Elric, abet only temorarilly.

In times of need by Elric, stormbringer will kill someone of its own accord to give Elric strength. This is how Elric lost his true love; stormbringer killed her to give elric strength.

One powerful scene has Elric in a time of insanity throwing Stormbringer over the side of a ship into the ocean, where stormbringer stabbed into the ocean remaining in an upright position, when Elric returned home, his staff was silent till he asks why, the staff said look in your war chest sire, and there was stormbringer hanging in his closet. The staff said a few days ago stormbringer came screaming into the castle and hung itself up.

Have I piqued anyone’s curiosity?

Sounds Similar to the Tales of Shanara (Thomas Convenant, Ur lord, Unbeliever).  He Had Leprosy in the real world, but then was transformed in the mythical one.

But you see?  I do read SOME fantasy.  Just not recently.  If I do check out some fantasy in the future, I will check out Elric.
