From "Another Helmsman:"

"For years, my favorite literature was Homer: 'The Odyssey' because all life is a journey; 'The Iliad' because all life is a battle. Now I ask myself: But need life be as Homer seems to have seen it? Why should I be constantly journeying, running away from myself? Constantly battling myself and resisting this life that God has granted me? Why not relax and let Someone who is far more capable than I do the steering and planning?"

c. 1973, Came to Believe, page 100

I do love the Illead and the odyssey, they are two of my favorite reads.

Interesting.  I never looked at those 2 that way.  It does seem to be accurate.  I will have to think on those as well, but it has been 30 years since I read them.  I might have to read them again.

These are stories I revisit in book and poem form time to time... as I get older the story seems to change and evolve.
