America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
The dems make it about the president
Published on January 18, 2005 By Moderateman In Politics
AS usual the dems are up to there dirty tricks once again {imagine that!}

While watching the hearing about confirming condi as the next sec, state, the dems kept hammering away about how george conducted the war.. about trade deficites, about anything they could to somehow trick condi into making a statement condemming President Bush.

I always thought confirming someone was about the person being confirmed... but I guess the left just cannot get over the shock of being the minority everywhere.

They JUST have to complain and whine and try to trick this brillant women {which is funny cause she is 11 times smarter than them} as usual condi stayed the course and kept things on track.

No matter what is going on in the beltway the dems somehow try to turn everything back to george while never once commending the magnificent job he has done in this time of great peril.

Unless the dems stop this constant bashing, whineing and puleing about george, they are never going to regain any respect from this humble man.
update: while being grilled about the war in iraq by none other than hanoijohn kerry.. who was "wondering" what to do about the bathist' condi replied, well as you know senator kerry the bathist have lost power and will do anything to regain it... was this about the bathist or condi zinging the dems and especially hanoijohn?

I agree, or anyone except their choir.  You figure after beating hte dead horse and finishing last time after time after time, they would get a new horse.  instead they complain that the dead horse is just not listening, and then beat it again!

And they call Dubya stoopid?

Did you hear the part where she tore Boxer a new one!  That was worth the price of admission in itself!  And shows she is not some stupid pawn of GW, but probably the most intelligent woman in the world (much to the chagrin of Boxer's fellow senator for the right coast).

Well, some of that WILL be her job. Considering the Secretary of State is the 'head diplomat' of the United States and the president's top adviser in foreign affairs, they need to know, Democrat and Republican alike how she'll conduct the job and advise the president. The confirmation hearings are nothing more than a glorified job interview. It's just difficult when part of the policy makers of your particular company hate your guts. If she is as clever as you say, and I don't doubt it, she'll be able to handle herself fine.

As for the nomination getting past the Senate, I wouldn't worry about it. To paraphrase MacBeth, they are 'full of sound and fury...signfying nothing.' In English, there will be some votes against, but she'll float on by, like Gonzales did. The Dems don't want to be seen as racists, after all, and turning down the first black woman Secretary of State is a politically unpouplar position.

Did you hear the part where she tore Boxer a new one!

*eye roll* One would hope she did it with some class. The last thing this country needs is for it's Secretary of State nominee and a Senator from California to get into a cat fight. Don't both of them have better things to do then keep score?

yes, she did it with a lot of class and intelligence.  You would have thought that boxer, being a senator after all, would have watched her testimony before the 9-11 commission, and how she slammed dunked (with velvet gloves of course) Bob Kerrey!  Guess Intelligence is not a pre-requisite for the Senate.  But then Bob KKK Byrd proved that.

Yes, she did do it with class, Rice looked Boxer in the face and said that she would answer any questions she wanted, but she would not question her intergrity.

Personally, I would have looked Boxer in the eye and said, "Let's make a deal Senator, if you won't sit there and pompously call me a liar, I won't prove to everyone in earshot that you are one, ok?" Of course, I'm not expecting to be in the nominee hot seat anytime soon, so.... ;~D

Whoops!  MM, that is a major faux pas!  A vote for Kerry would have been less radical.  She is a caricture, and clown.  49 states laugh at her!

Bonus Rating: Trolling Insightful

Final update for this one. Winnah is Mz. Rice. Sen Boxer ran her mouth for NOTHING! Final vote this round. For Mz Rice 16, against 2 (wanna take a guess just who the 2 dissenters were? Kerry and Boxer. Why ain't I surprised.) Now it's the senates turn.

HOLY COW!!!!!! I CAN NOT BELEIVE IT. I'm not surprised that Kerry voted against Condi (just part of his warped way of working with the President as he promised), I'm suprised he even showed up to a commity meeting. It will be a record for him if he shows up to vote on the floor too.

I think he already set the record for showing up at subcommittee meetings with this one!
