America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
The Left rejoices
Published on January 12, 2005 By Moderateman In Politics
Ah yes the left is now Jumping with joy... There is happiness in mudville today.

Many "I told you so's" are flying.

The cia reports the search of wmd in Iraq is over.

Well my question is WHERE ARE THEY THEN.?

Instead of rejoicing, the search should be intensified, to dismiss the idea saddam had wmds is folly.

I for one want to know what happened to all those chemical weapons.

Anyone that had been through basic training {boot camp} has experenced what it is like to breathe a very mild chemical weapon
{tear gas} to think that other much more toxic chem weaps are on the loose is damn frightening.

While the left is whooping it up laughing I sure hope they do not have to experence what it is like to have your lungs burst, eyes bleed, vomit blood and become a victim of this terrible weapon.

For anyone to believe saddam had no wmds is insane. but then thats what I have been saying all along, the left is completely out of touch with the harsh realities of life.

I wonder what the left is going to say if a wmd is released here in america?

I can hear it now, well bush was asleep at the switch again, the left will just not accept any responsibility for anything.

So whoop it up while you can lefties, while the american people are in peril.

Then remember to say< well I thought all along there were wmds, Bush should have searched harder, put more people on
the case. After all I did proclaim saddam has wmds all along. At this point all "dementia" from the left would disappear, as they once again accept no responsibility for anything.

What's worst about this post is those like-minded to moderateman's perspective simply would not listen to the many criticism's of the wisdom in Bush policy or entertain the possiblity of a lack of tenacity of his and his administration's words. Duelfer report? Screw that! If Bush says they are there, they're there. Only now, when they officially give up the hunt, do true believers admit, "hey, it was a goof, sorry 'bout all that money and lives it cost".

What's truly telling, however, is that the hunt has ended. If the Bush administration really truly believed there were such wmd's, they would at least conduct some follow up to ascertain where and how and when the weapons were actually destroyed. Of course, they can't do that since they already knew the Iraqi's had little actual substance other than what we originally provided them with. Despite the Bush admin. evangelizing on tv everyday the thought of a mushroom cloud, scaring millions of Americans needlessly. This whole debacle simply lends more credence to the thought that the Bush admin. was reaching selectively for intel that suit their immediate needs as opposed to the more responsible and statesman-like attitude of utilizing caution and wisdom to temper assertiveness and aggression. What else are they lying about and when will true-believers become open-minded skeptics?

ah, well, a lot of the weapons inspectors from pre-1998 seem to think that those weapons were destroyed, and that Saddam kept up a bluff so that Iran would stay fearful of Iraq...

But is this really news? Most of us realists over here on the left have pretty much been saying there were no WMDs since well before the invasion.

But, hey, let's start a few more wars, we're bound to find some somewhere. Maybe we could invade Israel, we know for a FACT that they have WMDs.

I'm a rather crass individual. Sorry. But we went to Iraq to "disarm" them -- and, WOW, they didn't have any of the stuff we said they did.

Moderateman,
even the US government now believes that no WMD exists and have stopped looking. How much more right wing than GWB are you? Most people do believe Bush is on the right of centre. So that meaqns that the left, the centre and the right all believe that WMD didn't exist at the time of the invasion. So where do you stand? Ultra far right?

Paul.

Is it too far beyond the realm of belief that he used the last of his WMDs on the Kurds after the first Gulf War?

Possible, or perhaps he destroyed them.  But then he sure fooled the rest of the world, including the UN, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, Madeline Albright as well as George W. Bush.
