Why oh why does the U.S. even bother giving of our money and heart and compassion to a World that then turns and SPITS in
our face?

Today the french news agency called the united states cheap and miserly.

The people of the world are so eager to think the worse of us that they listen to outright lies and BELIEVE them as truth.

The french gives an average of one dollor per person there the states gives an average of 7 per person.
The amazing japanesse is giving the most of any country in the world for the killer wave relief.
does anyone even acknowlege that? nope.

American are the most giving caring people on the planet, buit do we even get any credit for this? NO

The left is bizy as usual bashing bush with inane comments " he didnt move fast enuff" he isnt giving enough blah blah blah....

I say frell em all..... have a disaster call the eu.... have militants taking over your country call canada and france and germany I am sure they will at least show your country how to give up properly because they have so much practice quitting.

We here in the states give more to the world that the whole world combined, but I am sure some left wing kook will somehow twist math and say something else..

The french are NOT OUR friends , they never have been.... they are oppertunist and todays french gov, is GAULIST.

When will the states smarten up and stop giving away so much of our {the taxpayers} money to people that are not greatfull in the long haul?

We give and give only to have them spit in americas face over and over.

The worse of damage was in the muslim countries and what does the saudis the arabs give 10 million....So in essance we are the giver of our enemies and the people that should be giving does not...

Let this madness stop... we are damned if we give damned if we do not give... I would rather see that money stay here in the states and help its own people.. let the world look out for itself.

If we stopped feeding them we could reduce our enemies by a large amount, why feed our enemies, make them stronger,
so they can kill more americans..

For the same reason that EMTs and Paramedics continue treating patients, even after being spat on, vomitted on and shot at...

For the same reason Firefighters continue educating the public in fire safety, fight fires in homes with no smoke alarms, only to get chewed out by homeowners because they didn't save the TV.

For the same reason teachers continue teaching, even after they get blamed because "Johnny Can't Read" by a parent who knew he couldn't read and never did anything about.

For the same reason soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines continue to re-enlist, knowing that it means they will probably be going back to Iraq, Afghanistan, some other hot spot, or even to the Indian Ocean to help with the recovery.

The need is there, so it's time to act.

I can't really speak for all of these professions, but for myself it has been a few years since the last time I was in a position to respond to a disaster. Yet I've never been able to shake the almost Pavlovian response to any disaster I see, hear or read about. While the victims of such horrors go through the "stages of grief" (You know, Denial, Bargaining, Anger...etc) many of us go through a mild form because we can no longer respond.

Our nation is great and compassionate, and the minute we decide whether or not to act because the rest of the world might not notice, we cease to be great or compassionate.

But a am not a man with wonderfull ideals ANYMORE....We were viciously attacked and 3000 of our people MURDERED, WE as I said damned if we give and damned if we do not give.. I stand by my post and I applaud your stand also.
