America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~

I saw Ted Turner On Fox news last night, the Bill O'Reilly Show to be exact.

First Ted started off with comparing Fox news popularity with the popularity of Adolf Hitler during the 1930's, something he has said before.

When Bill asked Ted if he admired Fidel Castro, Ted answered "why yes, Yes I do" Bill pointed out that Fidel is a murderer and a man that has people tortured, ted countered with how Fidel has such a good school system and how well trained the Dr's are, totally ignoring the fact that Fidel is a killer and torturer, the same thing Ted screams about George W Bush.

Ted, when boiled down is just another Liberal loon, even if he is a great businessman.

Anyone who admires a despot even when the despotic rule brings about good, is short sighted.  It would have been better for Ted to have separated his admiration from the murderous and inhuman acts of Castro.  On the other hand, extreme right views are perilously close to Hitler's views on the role of the state.  It would do a Bill O'Reily well to shut up and listen on occasion, but then we wouldn't have the entertainment value, would we?  Whenever I hear talking heads locked up in emotional rhetoric, I shut off the program and I really could care less what channel it is.

Not all liberals are loons.  Most of us, however, try to have the ability to be open even to something noxious. But open does not mean or imply support or acceptance.  Its just that we tend to take very seriously the right of people to hold diverse opinions.

May you be a blessing, MM

Nothing Bill says or Fox news says could be construed as close to Hitler, while Fox is slanted right they are not totally a rightwing Network.

Not all liberals are loons.

This I know to be true many liberals are very level headed,, willing to discuss things rationally, not just scream and yell talking points. As are many from the right willing to listen, like I am.

I'd be interested in:

1) Your understanding of 'Hitler's views on the role of the state'

2) Your definition of 'extreme right views' & who, exactly, you believe holds them

3) How that definition relates to Fox News (which was the subject of the statement you are defending)

4) How, exactly, those 'extreme right views' compare with 'Hitler's views on the role of the state'

5) How you would reconcile the 'extreme right view' that citizens have a right to bear arms with Hitler's views on citizen gun ownership (for instance, Jews)

Are you asking me this question or Sodaiho. I need to know this before I answer a question that might not be mine to answer.

Shalom Sodaiho,

I've heard this thrown out many times.  Would you please do me a favor and enlighten this ignorant soul precisely how extreme right views are perilously close to Hitler's views?  Preferably some definitions or examples.

Blessings.

You forgot rule number 1 of liberals - the ends justify the means.

MM - the quote was from Sodaiho & the inquiry was indeed directed to him.  I believe you are quite capable of answering the question(s), and I believe I know what your likely answers would be, but Sodaiho's are likely to be more... interesting.  No offense.

Never take offense to anything you write.

I have a feeling he is going to duck this question.

I see I was right about Sodaiho, not answering Daiwas questions. Sad, very sad.

Maybe he is busy doing some studying to answer pending questions?

I( would like to think he is up to the challenge and not taking the usual liberal route of ignoring a fair question or in this case a series of questions.

Looks like I was right, and sadly so, I thought better of you Sodaiho, you usually back u8p any statements you make with some facts, but this time it looks like just plain "talking head points"

I thought what Ted said was priceless, when Bill asked him about the 2 million people that were executed after the US departure in Vietnam - "Oh, I didn't think out that".
