America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
Have a leg up on America
Published on November 30, 2008 By Moderateman In Politics

After being captured fighting with Taliban forces against Americans in 2001, Abdullah Massoud was sent to Guantanamo, where the one-legged terrorist was fitted with a special prosthetic leg, at a cost of $50,000-$75,000 to the U.S. taxpayer. Under the Americans With Disabilities Act, Massoud would now be able to park his car bomb in a handicapped parking space!

Remember now he is supposed to be tortured according to the Far left, while American veterans cannot get a new pair of glasses this terrorists gets a new leg, is released and then goes back to Afghanistan to wage war against the same people he got his leg from, his new leg did not stop him from kidnapping Chinese dam builders and killing Americans, actually it made him a folk hero, this "brave man, this freedom fighter" fighting for freedom against the very people that so cruelly gave him a new leg. What beasts we Americans are for doing that!

Natuarly no mention of his new leg was seen in Americas papers or the main stream media as it would go against Bush as the monster, it might actually show Bush and his right on decision to detain some terrorist was GASPPPPPPP!!!!! the right thing to do!! Well now the left and its supporters the MSM cannot have that can they?

Since 1943 the US flamethowers used napalm as fuel.

Thank you for delving into internet land to find this out, I appreciate the effort.

That picture of the running child all burned up was one of the most powerful pictures to come out of the Vietnam war.
Yes absolutely, but on a brighter note I saw a follow up story (back in the late 80's or early 90's)on that girl, she was living in the US and had seemed to be doing well from what I can remember. She was in her late twenty's when I saw the story and she looked beautiful. It doesn't make up for her pain, but it's a start.[/quote]

I wonder how she got here, One of my major bones to pick with the U.S. government was how we were treated on returning from Vietnam and how the so called "boat people" we treated when they came to America.

Treated a hell of lot better than Mexicans crossing the border.

Redundant in a sense deapite its modifications and it still burns deeply.

Frankly, from my liberal stance, I see nothing wrong with Gitmo that some reform measures wouldn't correct. After all, a brig is a brig no matter where it's located. In the heat of Abu Graib there were cries to tear it down; it is my understanding it still stands.

Would you care to elucidate on the reform measures? They are already treated 100 times better than any American prisoner in American Prisons.

I would guess exaggeration; yet you well know the beef about Gitmo is holding them without trial or effectuating a tribunal.

Terrorist's have no rights under the Geneva convention, only enemies caught wearing the uniform of the country you are at war has rights.

Yes 100 times is an exaggeration, but they were treated much better than returning vets were and that's a fact.

militias and people in selfdefense have those rights as well if they are defending their own country.

Only if wearing a uniform (that is why some are shot as spies).

And I dont think Saudi Arabia has annexed Iraq or Afghanistan yet (or for that matter that Britian, Australia, Canada, or Yemen has either).

Geeze, this was a discussion about Gitmo and in turned to the best methods of burning people alive. Some of you guys are nuts.

Anyway, the problem with gitmo is that many of the prisoners were taken by afghan troops in the invasion and their isnt evidence for their guilt.    Id like to see how your principles would stand up to 7 years in a box for a crime your brothers sisters neigbor thought he saw you do, with no way to plead your case.

Oh and about the leg.  It should be mentioned that their are people in this country that need artificial legs and cant get them due to our wonderful for profit medical system.  But the suspected terrorists get them.  yey.

Vets got the GI bill.  Those people were the people we supported for 20 years in the south vietnamese govenment.  The ones that didnt escape were either killed or hurded into "re-education" camps.    We had to let them in, we created them.  Or we could have accepted a million homeless into san francisco.  but i think people wouldnt have liked that.  The returning GIs were treated like shit no doubt.  But they did have families for help and didnt for the most part have to deal with the hatred of the people they were moving in with.  Nothing was good about that war.

Some of us did not have family support and were left to our own devices.
