A federal judge has ruled to allow the first Guantanamo Bay war crimes trial to move forward, blocking an appeal by lawyers for Salim Hamdan, a former driver for Usama bin Laden.

His trial is scheduled to begin on trial Monday. He is the first defendant in a special military commission system set up to prosecute detainees at the Navy base in Cuba. Other detainees, including Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, are awaiting trials of their own. This Evil Man I personally would like to wrap in pigskin before I kill him. Come to think of it the Gitmo Prisoners have it much better than our own citizens locked up in prison over here in the states, but to hear the left wing cry and moan about it, one would never know this.

A SCOTUS ruling last month jeopardized those plans. The court ruled that detainees must be allowed to challenge their detention in civilian courts, a right that the Bush administration said for years did not exist. These people are not American citizens, why does the left wing bleeding hearts insist on giving them American citizen rights?

The ruling is a major win for Bush, but will we hear about it from the main stream Media? Hell no! as with all things concerning a good thing for the president it will be buried on the back page, or twisted into something evil by the Left wing loons!

He must be one of those 460 innocents that liberal mormon told us about. I wonder if liberal would agree to take him into their home since he is so innocent???

I've been sitting here debating whether or not to actively inquire about some of your opinions regarding this subject, but curiosity has gotten the better of me, and one never knows, I might actually adopt a different view point.

So, I shall begin with a question for you.  Why should American citizens be allowed to challenge their detention in a civilian court?  Basically, why should there be a civilian court in addition to a military type court for an American citizen?

We have a judicial system where no man can be imprisoned without his day in court in front of a jury of his peers, Unless of course he or she pleads guilty in front of a Judge. WE have rights granted to us under the constitution and a document called the Bill of rights.

Okay, fair enough.  Allow me to rephrase the question then.  Why do you believe that this kind of system is important to us American citizens who have these rights?  For example, if you were to be arrested for let's say murder, why would you rather have a court operating like a civilian courts do today, rather than how a military court would act?

Since I have never been tried as a enemy combatant under military law how could I begin to understand? Maybe a rephrase from you coming from a different direction?

Seriously people we got his driver.

So, you are insinuating we should let him go?  If we dont get the big guy, we should ignore all the others?  And that makes sense to you?
