America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
Tug of War we are losing

There is a debate going on in America whether or not the War on Terror is a real war and whether it's worth spending our blood and treasure winning it.

Let's take a little review. In 1979 Muslim Terrorists stormed the U.S. embassy in Iran and took its staff as hostages, tortured some of them and held them for 444 days. When President Jimmy Carter finally got off his dead ass and sent a very small contingent of military to "rescue" the staff it was met with dismal failure, much like most of Jimmy Carters presidency.. When the newly elected Ronald Reagan, took office in 1980 he "spoke softly and carried a big stick" as President Theodore Roosevelt recommended in his day. The Iranians then released the hostages before Ronald Reagan would have launched a full out war against them and rightly so.

Three years later in 1982, Muslim terrorists bombed the U.S. embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, killing 49 people, including 17 Americans, one year later in 1984 Hezbollah and known Muslim terrorist organization blew up the Marine barracks in Beirut killing 241 marines. Then in 1985 Muslim terrorists seized the Italian cruise ship, The Achille Lauro, Murdered a wheelchair bound Jew by throwing him overboard to drown. In 1986 Muslim Terrorists bombed a West Berlin Disco that was known to be visited by American servicemen. In 1988 Muslim terrorists blew up Pan Am flight 103 over Scotland killing 270 people.

In 1993, the first world Trade Center bombing happened by Muslim terrorists using bombs, killing six and injuring thousands, also in 1993 a Muslim terrorist plot to Murder the first president Bush was foiled. In 1995, Five American were killed by car bomb, planted by Muslim terrorists in Saudi Arabia. In 1996 Muslim Terrorist exploded a truck bomb outside an Air Force complex in Saudi Arabia killing 19 Airmen and wounding thousands more. In 1998 The U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania were bo0mbed by Muslim Terrorists a total of 212 people were killed and again thousand were injured. In the year 2000 , Our Warship the U.S.S.Cole was attacked by Muslim Terrorists, 17 sailors were killed dozens injured and our war ship totally disabled. Finally, the 19 Terrorist that flew Jets filled wit Innocent American Passengers in the Twin Towers killing over 3000 people along with the strike against the pentagon and the Crash in Pennsylvania.

Is it really true that One Democratic Presidential candidate claims The war on terror is nothing more than a "bumper sticker" war? Shame on you John Edwards!

There continues to be much talk about what constitute "racial profiling" Former Secretary of transportation Norman Mineta, whose family was treated so badly during the Franklin Roosevelt Administration, when thousands of loyal Americans of Japanese descent were forced into Concentration camps colored federal policy on "racial Profiling" and was stamped by him as not politically correct!

The Federal Government, in its obsessive drive for "equality" has REQUIRED that at airports every tenth or so person MUST be singled out for special scrutiny by the TSA  security Guards, This has often resulted in children, old ladies and pregnant mothers being singled out while Faruk Mohammad blithely walks through without a second look. Profiling being prohibited, the airlines were FINED if they questioned more than two young Arab males in a single day. Federal Policy considers this "discriminatory".

When 100% of airport bombing have been committed by Young Muslims in the last twenty years it ceases to be profiling and becomes a description of a subject! America's response to a cold blooded calculating enemy, has been to say " Excuse me, you dropped your box cutter"

Alexander Hamilton, one of our foundling fathers, warned: " Nothing is more common than for a free people, in times of heat and violence, to gratify momentary passions, by letting into the government, principles and precedents which afterwards prove fatal to themselves"

Let's also hope that 'POLITICAL CORRECTNESS IS NOT CAUSING US TO DO SO"!

It is already killing us, the New York Times exposing how we track terrorists, the Democrats screaming about how we wire tap foreign phone calls, John Edwards calling the war on terror a bumper sticker war, Letting the flying Imams get the names of the people that complained about their behavior, Letting taxi drivers refuse to take people because they might have booze in their packages and on and on and on, Hollywood making movies like "redacted" showing American military as killers and rapists, lions for lambs doing the same a film made in documentary form that will inflame more hatred, FDR would have imprisoned these idiots.

There's a reason Edwards refers to the War on Terror as a "bumper sticker war". Gid and I both have said it time and time again:

How do you fight a war against an emotion? It's like declaring a war against happiness, or apathy.

I'm afraid that the only way to truly destroy our enemy in the war on terror is to become our enemy - to cause terror instead of fight against it.

Is that what you want?

you deny them places from which to plot and launch attacks, you find their finances and freeze them, you take out charges to anyone that supports them, you keep up the pressure on them till they stop. Or you just sit back and call it a bumper sticker war and wait for the next attack on America, something along the lines of a Anthrax attack or Nuke. then you will blame the GOP for not doing enough to protect us, all the time doing your best to make it impossible for them to protect us, affording more protection to terrorists than to American citizens. Is that what YOU are hoping for?

The PC movement is an arm of the fifth coulmn. The American people are swallowing it due to guilt and pressure from the bet-wetting liberals.

We're doomed.

Unless the American people finally open their eyes much like they have on the Illegal Immigration Issue we are doomed as you say, But I have faith that the people will wake up in time to see what kind of bullshit road the P.C. garbage is leading us down and say "ENOUGH!!!!"

Mmm... you are confusing 'terror', the emotion, with 'terror', the short way to describe numerous acts of terrorism. The war is to eliminate the emotion: by fighting the people.

The best way to fight a war against a violent but hidden criminal (ie non-state) foe is to take it public. Trumpet their crimes to the world, use police to track them down and trial them publicly. It's how the mafia was broken, it's how human trafficking cartels are broken. It works.

But the best thing to do is to end the source of the criminals in the first place. Address the question 'why do they hate us?' and you'll find there are actual real things that could be done to greatly reduce the number of attacks and improve safety across the board.

Consistency in foreign policy might help, but a generally more benevolent policy (or a vastly more sadistic and destructive one) would be a good start.

Oh, and toppling the house of Saud should be a precursor to any action. They're the biggest threat and no one is doing anything about them. Have you ever read the textbooks they use in schools? Iran has nothing on Saudi propaganda. It's no wonder the majority of Islamic terrorists are Saudis or Saudi-trained.

Every minute we spend dicking around with Iran would be better invested on taking out Saudi Arabia.

Everytime I have to take my fucking shoes off at the airport for screening I can't help but get a little pissed off about political correctness.

The term "war on terror" is just a bumper sticker, PC statement, but the war on Islamist Fundamentalists is very real. It's been real for them for decades, we only started shooting back after 9/11.

The thing that bugs me is, from what I've been reading, the NTSB screeners aren't being trained in accordance with modern security standards. A good security worker in any assignment is an observer. You don't pick a bad dude out of a crowd by looking for was is normal, you do it by noticing what isn't normal.

Nothing against the hard working folks who have to put up with the crap that travellers give them, but as long as they are trained to pay attention to shoes and belts instead of how clothing fits, how each person in the crowd interacts with the crowd and where each person's eyes are pointed minute to minute, they aren't really "screening" anything.

Very true. Some feel that if we ignore it, there can be no war (after all, war requires 2 sides). They thought that on December 6, 1941 too.
