America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
Sneaky little creeps

Turkey which is our main route to resupply the troops in Iraq is one of out main allies in the Muslim world, they have been for decades now.

The Democrats, afraid that we might be winning in Iraq have come up with a new and improved way of undermining the war effort.

The Ottoman empire which went defunct in 1917, committed a horrible atrocity against the Armenian people, genocide if you must use the word, needless to say the Turks are real touchy about this word "GENOCIDE" there has been two other efforts to call the act the Turks committed against the Armenians as Genocide, both failed, now the Democrats have brought this up again, Demanding that America decide that the act be called genocide, why now you might ask? because they know this will really anger the Turks and might cause a rift between America and Turkey, causing Turkey to one, Invade Northern Iraq destabilizing the most controlled part of the nation and two causing Turkey to withdraw permission to use Turkish airspace and land facilities to replenish the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, thereby effectively losing the war on terror and losing the one true Muslim ally we have in the middle east.

Way to go Democrats, way to lose a war and keep your hands fairly clean at the same time you treacherous creeps. How can you people sleep at night? or do you sleep? or do you stay up all night think up new ways to undermine the war effort?

It seems like the Dem's are backing off on this one.  Several Dem's have come out against the measure including Murtha.  Many are revisiting the issue, not because it wasn't a genocide but because of the political and military ramifications for our country today.  Let's hope that they are able to see that this is not in our national interest at this time.  Meanwhile the Turkish parliament voted to allow the government to send troops to northern Iraq.

If it indeed was genocide, we should call it that regardless of who it will piss off or what ramifications it will have on the war. It's akin to saying the holocaust never happened.

There is no doubt what my people did was genocide, but the point is why now? again? after two failures> the timing is real bad. It happened in 1904 at this point does it really matter except to stir shit?

The War on Terror can never be won...you can't combat an ideology.  Terrorism has always existed and always will. You may be able to kill terrorists, but not terrorism. I believe the proper way to dub this conflict would be the War in Iraq or Gulf War Part II: Bush's Fuckup, which we may be able to win if we can get our shit together.  Maybe we'll even find Bin Laden one of these days...but I'm not holding my breath.

Oh, in 1904 we didn't care about other countries at all. So there's no reason to even bring it up now. We should've called a spade a spade at the time.

the first good crack was this:

that we might be winning in Iraq

it was a good one, but then:

causing Turkey to one, Invade Northern Iraq destabilizing the most controlled part of the nation

lol. As if you are ACTUALLY winning, and if the Turks will NOT invade Northen Iraq nonetheless.

I think that more than 40 states reckognized the Armenian GENOCIDE as Bona Fide historical fact. Why now? Why not? Turkey is actually getting a dangerous trend toward islamisation and radical nationalism, and it would be a good idea to prevent them from forgetting their past sins. The Germans won't be allowed to, and that is why we can trust them - they won't forget -.

The Turks should accept what they did, and so should the 4 Colonialist Empires + U.S.A. did to the native americans. All these actions were the most despicable actions commited in history, and closing the eyes or hiding behind technicalities to shade the facts.

Ok agreed on calling it gulf war 2, but come on now Bushes war? like no congressmen had anything to with this? This is why I have lost respect for the left, the way it has become Bushes war... not an American conflict.

This is what I would expect from the likes of you to hope for an American defeat.

You nor I really have no idea what is happening on the ground, you hope for defeat, I hope for a victory.
To late, Turkey is set to invade Iraq, we could not stop them.

In 1904 we were not yet a world power, we were a fledgling power at best.

I didn't say it was Bush's War...just his fuckup. A lot of people were involved, I won't discount that...but Bush is the one that makes a lot of the calls. At any point he could've said, "Hey guys...I've got a bad feeling about this, maybe we ought to think it over."

believe this or not, tis your choice, while the build up was happening Colleen and I were sitting at home praying, Please G-d don't let this happen, it will be a huge mistake to mess around in the middle east with no real allies, needless to say our prayers were not answered. I believe most folk here think I am some kind of war monger blood lust filled jar head... I only wish I could convey to them how much I hate war, anyone that has fought in a war that has a lick of sense hates it.

I believe it...I have no reason not to. War ain't to be taken lightly...and now we're in a hell of a position with this whole thing. It's a fine mess this administration has gotten us into...but that's not the issue anymore...it's getting out of it somehow.

You misunderstand me. I EXPECT defeat to you, but I do not really care for victory or defeat. The "WAr on Terror" will not be won there. I expect the U.S. to turn tail sooner than later, because you will have lost less money, less good troopers, and be in better shape to actually defend yourself against threats.

To late, Turkey is set to invade Iraq, we could not stop them.

So voting against or for an historical Genocide acknowledge would not have changed a thing.
