America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
Behind the Scenes

This is not so much about the Immigration bill as much as it is about WHY? Why are members of both parties pushing so hard to get this disgrace of a bill passed, when about 70 to 80% of Americans do not want this bill to pass not as it is anyways.

It makes perfect sense to ask ourselves WHY our elected officials are pushing this bill behind closed doors? No public hearing have been held about this, I want to know WHY? There must be some kind of reason for this.

This is my guess, an educated guess. There is a group called Americans for Sovereignty, A project for the council for America, based out of the nations capitol, their chairman is Jeffrey Gayner and this group is doing its best to try and ALERT Americans to a very SERIOUS threat that is looming in our great nation.

We believe that unelected officials from our own government are meeting with their counterparts from Mexico and Canada, with the intention of creating the North American Union, loosely crafted after the European Union. If this happens say goodbye to our Constitution, our flag and our pledge of Allegiance.

This proposed Union would erase any borders between Canada, the United States and Mexico, America would be overrun by millions of poor people from south of the border, it would literally devastate and bankrupt our economy, our health care system and our educational system.

Today in our own schools our own children are already being taught by liberal teachers that Americans are money hungry and selfish, greedy and full of avarice. However the 2006 figures show that Americans gave a record 400 BILLION to charity, 75% of it in small donations. It is Americas system of government {federalist republic and capitalist} that has produced all this prosperity and compassion and given Americans the funds and ability to give. Ronald Reagan once said " The American Republic is the last best hope of mankind"

During World War Two Franklin D. Roosevelt offered a prayer, in part it says About our heroic fighting men "for these men are drawn to the ways of peace. They fight not for conquest. They fight to end conquest. They fight to liberate. They fight to let justice arise, and tolerance and good will among ALL THY PEOPLE. They yearn for the end of battle, for their return to the haven of home" These words spoken some 60 odd years ago could be used today.

If the entire Prayer was spoken today the ACLU would file a lawsuit. The liberals would be up in arms because God was mentioned many, many times.

I don't know where everyone went. It has been very quiet around here. Do you think they had a party and we weren't invited? Nah, I AM the party (at least in my mind).

Well I have to say that I don't think this would every happen. I think if they tried this we would see a revolution in our country. As far as I know the members of the EU still maintain their individual country identity (flag etc.) and still have immigration laws. The ACLU has no problem with people praying or mentioning God. They just have a problem with government institutionalized religion.

Also according to a CBS poll "Sixty-two percent of Americans say illegal immigrants who have lived and worked in the U.S. for at least two years should be given a chance to keep their jobs and apply for legal status."

I gotta ask...Elie, "where" did you get this info?

They just have a problem with government institutionalized religion. Yeah, exactly. So if a governing official said a prayer, in public, he would get sued for offending some atheist. How can you represent me when you're PRAYING. Hmph.

I read a story yesterday that I have to see if I can find again, about what's going down in Oklahoma and the illegal immigrants issues there. It's not good and might be indicative of what is going on and about how many people feel right now. They're almost up in arms and the immigrant population there are feeling afraid because of the illegals. I believe if this continues, WE all need to be concerned and something has to be done! I agree too that the European countries all have kept their individualism despite their union. Although, somethng like that happening, anything is possible!

CBS is a Liberal station with very liberal views Amy. I would want to know more about who was polled and what their politics are like, polls can be skewed in any direction the poll taker wants.

To appease somewhere around 6% to 12% of unbelievers the 88% to 94% of believers must suffer.

yeh see if you can find it, here in California the Illegals have a culture all their own, they make no effort to blend, same goes for the legal immigrants from Mexico.

First, I haven't seen France, Germany, or any other of the EU kissing goodbye to any of these. They all have their flags, their constitutions, and whatever nationalist nonsense.

This proposed Union would erase any borders between Canada, the United States and Mexico, America would be overrun by millions of poor people from south of the border, it would literally devastate and bankrupt our economy, our health care system and our educational system.

While Eastern Europeans countries have sent some emmigrants to the western Europeans countries, the fall of economic borders between these countries actually helped the poor ones. The more their economies are improving, the less their population will want to "jump the border".

If a project of an "American Alliance" (sounds better, no?) ever see the day, I am sure it will, on the long run:

1- Stop immigration from Mexico to the U.S., by improving a lot the economy and the social condition in this country
2- Do so without any unpopular actions, which will help a lot to U.S.'s image in the Latin America. If it's Mexico who build a large fence at the south of their border, it's Mexico who will get the blame.

I think that the USA will win on the long run. Probably Canada too, and Mexico too.
