America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~

Hi Folks - this is Colleen, Elie's other half.  I wanted to let those of you that know Elie, know that he is in the hospital in serious condition.  He has some sort of viral infection that has impacted all of his systems, including his brain.  I took him in Friday morning and he has been in the ICU since then.

For those of you that know and care for Elie, I ask for your prayers or other kind thoughts into the universe for his recovery.

I will try to post something again soon.  I apologize for the "public" forum, but the truth is, I don't really know how to use the blog, so this is the best I could do.

Thanks in advance for your positive thoughts for Elie.

Colleen

Speaking for myself, I'm going to a festival thing at my son's school tonight. Prolly gone spend a smooth hundred bucks at a cake auction to benifit my son's class. Hope I can get the Italian Cream!

Get well soon Elie and get your ass back here! (no pressure, of course!  )

I found the perfect lyrics from the Electric Light Orchestra album!

Early morning day is dawning
Cooling towers and factory gates
Dirty streets and laughing people
Skinny dogs and beer crates

Hello my old friend
Hello my old friend

Sad canals green black water
Somewhere bicycles and beds
Wet and windy afternoons
And pigeons coo in garden sheds

Hello my old friend
Hello my old friend

High-rise tower blocks with panoramic
Views of trains and coal
Tiehead railway tracks tread faithfully
The gas works to behold

Hello my old friend
Hello my old friend

Just to see the sunset
Pretty rainbows over your majestic towers
To feel your earth beneath my feet
Here i could stand for hours and hours

(young girls sing fara jacka in the background)

Big machines that once were champions
Turn to dust under the sky
Broken windows choking chimneys
Factory walls for miles and miles

By bye my old friend
By bye my old friend

Just to see the sunset
Pretty rainbows over your majestic towers
To feel your earth beneath my feet
Here i could stand for hours and hours

Wow!  Elie is going to love reading through these posts.  I read him a few of your limericks and almost sent him back to the hospital!   Just kidding.  Some of those are hilarious.

He is doing very, very well but taking it really slow. A friend told us that for every day you spend in the hospital, it takes 2 1/2 days to recover. I don't know if thats entirely true, but Elie has been home 10 days and, although he is improving and his spirits are good, it's pretty obvious it's going to be awhile before he runs any marathons.

Thank you all so much for keeping this thread going.  I know that Elie will be back with you soon.

With Love,

Colleen

Thanks for the update, Colleen. It's very kind/thoughtful of you to check in here and keep us crazy cyberfriends posted on what's going on. I, for one, greatly appreciate it.

Take care of yourself, and give Elie a giant hug from me!

Great news!

Glad you are feeling better Elie.

I shoveled snow today....again.

My youngest turned 4 yesterday. Big day planned, but in the end no one showed up because of a pretty heavy snow front...so just the three of us celebrated. He didn't seem to mind. He's a little man.

Have a great night.

Tried going up into PA to visit some family on Saturday; had to turn around 'cause the snow was so bad. Tried to go to the mall yesterday, got caught up in a whiteout, and had to go home. Got stuck in our driveway because under the several inches of snow are several inches of ice. Careful, Old man---Global Warming's gonna getcha!

Glad to hear he's doing so much better. He'll be up and griping in no time. Liberals (tsk); who needs'em!?
Take it easy, Master Jedi Right.
