The Green Mile

I watched the green mile yesterday. I have seen it before. I was struck by how painful life is.

The harm we do to one another, the world filled with hatred scratching at my mind like sharp glass, {line from the ,movie} yet so true to me.

It really is true we all walk the green mile {euphemism for death} from the day we are born, some of us get there faster than others, some slower, some of us go out in a flash, leaving no trace of our passing. Some of us wither and die. Some of us will be remembered by our loved ones. Some of us people will say good riddance.

As I have aged I notice the passing of time with much more clarity than ever before and try to do no harm to others or to myself.

When I stand before God I only want to say at them end I became the best person I could be.

Life is a learning experience, isn't it. I feel like I could do much better but I try to be a good person. Some think that isn't enough but I do. Hope you're feeling better.

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are. I think Theodore Roosevelt said that (but I can't be sure)

Even at my rather youthful age I try to be the best I can be...I mean, I'm not a superhero, but I help out when I can and I don't intentionally hurt people. There's room for improvement, of course...and I hope to improve myself over my life...

All one can do is try, I suppose.

Elie, I watched this yesterday as well. Doesn't suprise me that you and I were watching the same thing. It is one of my favorite movies has a lot of meaning to me. I too wish that when my time comes I will be able to touch the face of God and know that I was the best person that I could be by HIS eyes. not by my eyes.
You have gorwn so so much in the years that I have known you and see you still growing. Life is full of changes ain't it.
