No, SD, learn the difference between trolls and debaters.  If you read here enough, you would understand the difference between a kingbee and stevendedalus and a col gene.

The domino theory. Well that proved to be a lie.

No, it just proved to be wrong. It was a valid theory, nonetheless. That assumes you understand the meaning of the term.

The people of Vietnam did not support the regime we tried to prop up in the south.

Bit of an oversimplification, that. We'll just have to wait for a democratic election in PRVN to find out, I guess.

In Iraq we have allowed the sectarian hatred that has existed in Iraq since the British formed Iraq to boil over because when we deposed Saddam we were unable to keep the factions from reemerging and creating the violence you see day after day. The three factions were kept from conducting the type of violence we see today by POWER First the British and then Saddam. We went into that country with a force strong enough to defeat Saddam but not strong enough to prevent the sectarian violence that is taking place now. We lost control within about three months of deposing Saddam. It may take an all out civil war to establish what will take hold in Iraq and we can not get drawn into a civil war!

And how, exactly, would all that sectarian hatred have evaporated had we occupied Iraq with a more oppressive force? We could have put half a million troops in there and perhaps had less terrorist-on-Iraqi & Iraqi-on-Iraqi violence, but certainly at the cost of much more terrorist-on-GI & Sunni-on-GI violence and only until we drew down or left. There is no alternative to letting the process play itself out. No invasion plan, no matter how well-executed, would have avoided these internal conflicts occurring, short of annihilating the Sunni minority. If you ask me, the formerly oppressed Shia have been remarkably tolerant of their former Sunni masters.

No matter what anyone says, Bush avoided Vietnam by going into the Guard just like Cheney and Clinton used deferments to avoid service.

Well, we knew that was coming. You are so predictable and it's truly sad to see such jealous rage render someone so incapable of sober reflection.
