America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~

Always make sure that the person or people you love the most hear these words at parting or the end of a conversation.

"I LOVE YOU!" it just might be the last thing they ever hear on this plane of existence.

I always think today that a fight is inevatble with loved ones, it just happens when two or more people live together.

But.. never ever let things stay that way. Every Monday through Friday I See colleen off to work and always make sure I say I love you to her loud and clear, because there is no guarantee that she will be coming home, and that's a scary thought.

When we go to bed for sleep at night the last thing I hear from her is " I love You Elie" because we both understand one of us might not wake-up.

When I speak to my brother or sister-in-law The I love you phrase flies fast and furious because we all understand it might be the last memory of that person we have.

My friends and I always use the I love you too, because same thing, it just might be the last thing we remember.

So for today I propose a kinder gentler day and remember to remind your friend, family, and other loved ones how mush you care.

Dave and I have this thing that we do when he leaves for work.  It started when we were first married....I say 'I love you, come home safe" and he says "I love you too, I will".

One morning I was tending to one of the kids and I didn't say it, and he paused by the door and looked at me.

"what?" I said

"You didn't say it, I can't leave until you say it" he said.

So, I said it.  And I will continue to say it as long as he's a cop.

We even make it the last thing we say to each other when he deploys.  That's his signal that I'm ready to let go of him and walk away.  He knows not to rush me to let go of him; he knows that when I'm ready I'll kiss him and say "I love you...come home safe" with tears in my eyes.....and he'll say "I love you too, and I will" with tears in his.

smart thinking Dharma, I say that because we think alike in many things concerning relationships. heh

When colleen calls me to let me know she is on way home I respond with "come home safe to me" she says will do. sigh love is just so grand.

The kids and I each have a different saying to each other before bed . Jacob says simply I love you mom you know, I say to him yes I know and I love you too boodah( dont ask lol). Kelsey says night mom, sleep tight to which I say I will sleep as tight as a bug in a rug. Alyssa says hey mom I always say WHAT.. she says Just so you know I love you today and loved you yesterday and most likely will love you tomorrow.

What a lovely thread! Whenever my wife and I leave each other's presence or hang up the phone, the last thing we say is 'I love you' instead of 'bye'.

I love you means so much more than just bye. I agree.

This is such a beautiful thread, Elie. The sentiment is something a lot of people could do with, for sure. Too many people get caught up in day to day dramas that aren't worth any attention and forget the people they should be lavishing attention on; their loved ones.

Toni and I each say 'I love you' at least half a dozen times a day. I want to be constantly reminded this beautiful woman, my best friend, loves me for who I am. It reiterates how much I love myself (not in an egotistical way, as I'm sure you understand), but in a way that reminds me to be happy with who I am. Reinforcement of a positive state is always a good thing.

You can have a cookie from me, good sir. You deserve it.

that is so important to do, Colleen and I promised to never take anything about each other for granted and although we know we love each other it is soooo nice to hear out loud.
