America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
My choice
Published on October 14, 2005 By Moderateman In Entertainment
I just finished watching "the hand that rocks the cradle, I forgot how scary the movie is.

Rebecca Demornay is the evil demented Au pair, She does such a remarkable job of acting in this movie, yet she never was a "A"
list star.

Is there anyone that you think is under appreciated, that should be a big star because of their talent?

But just cannot seem to make it?

Yeardley Smith is a talent, but (sadly) is a "face for radio."
I like Alan Rickman, who has talent coming out his ears and has only been a leading man in "Truly, Madly, Deeply" - and who has seen THAT?!?!

My choice for a star that never made "A-List" but should have, would be Aidan Quinn. Don't believe me? watch the HBO movie "...and the Band Played on", or "Benny and Joon" (and please, PLEASE throw out that schmaltzy airline disaster TV movie flick he just did!)

Some years past, I'd have put Jennifer Connelly ("Labyrinth") on the same list. But "A Beautiful Mind" fixed that for her somewhat.

Gary Oldman. He has A-list talent but I doubt he's paid like an A-list actor. I wonder how many average movie goers could pick him out of line-up. He has played everything from Sid Vicious to Lee Harvey Oswald to Dracula to Beethoven to Pontius Pilate to Surius Black to Dr. Smith from "Lost in Space". He also was funny as hell as Drexl in "True Romance".

Another guy I consider underrated despite being well-known is Gene Hackman. When was the last time he gave a bad performance? Sure he's been in some not-so-good movies, but when he's on the screen you do tend to watch.

Another good movie that Terrence Stamp was terrific in was "The Limey".

I also think most character actors are underrated. In fact, many character actors are ther best actors.

No, Sam is a man's man.  I would take it as a compliment.

I was told I look like Casper Milquetoast. There aint no way that is a compliment.

I do like aidan and have considered him one of the better character actors.

Prior to Entourage I'd have listed Jeremy Piven, but I think he's getting the exposure he deserves within that role.

I agree completely on Alan Rickman. Loved him as the voice of god in Dogma

I have no idea who this is.

I liked Alan as the bad guy in Kevin costner's robin hood too.

Me too! He's also pretty good in comedies and when he plays the bad guy he's so believable!

but should have, would be Aidan Quinn. Don't believe me?

Oh definately I believe and agree with you! Aidan is great in whatever roles he plays.

No way Elie, he's gorgeous and I had a big crush on him for a long time! And I still do...the older he gets the more good looking he is! No wonder I love you so much! And I just love his voice...I'm off to dreamland now....

I agree with you on this too. Jeremy Piven is very talented and I'm so glad he's getting his dues now. He's great in that role and that's why I watch that show!

I'm trying to remember this movie he did and I saw it again recently on cable....he was in the navy seals or something like that and he was a dead ringer for this terrorist the US was trying to catch, he took the terrorist's place in his world and became him. In the end they caught the terrorist. It was a great movie and he did a great job.
