Today I am grateful for being alive.

For having a roof over my head.

For being warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

For having food to eat everyday and never having to worry about going to bed hungry.

For having the highest standard of living in the entire world.

For having someone to love and be loved by.

For having friends in the truest sense of the word.

For having a car to drive.

For having doctors care for me.

For being clean and sober.

For being free and have the ability to exercise that freedom.

For not having to live in constant fear.

For having police to protect me from the harsh realities of life.

This is my gratitude list for today, what are you grateful for?

I'm grateful for being able to walk again.

For having a job.

For having a bicycle to ride.

For friends and family

The list could go on and on.

I am grateful for: Being able to wake up in a country where I can say what I want, think what i want and live how I see fit without fear of persecution or harm. My husband, for his love and his provision. My children...first of all that I was able to have any, and secondly that they have clean water to drink, enough food to eat and a school to attend. My parents, that they busted their asses to raise us the best they could. My surgeon, for his skill and expertise. And I am also grateful that i was able to have the surgery that has changed my life and that I am relatively pain free compared to where I was 2 years ago.

I am grateful for a lot , my children that they are happy healthy and wise. I am grateful that I am sober for TODAY that I am able to enjoy my life. I am grateful that I still am able to walk, sure slowly and with a limp but walk none the less. I am grateful that I still have somewhat vision out of my right eye.(heres hoping this reply makes sense cuz I can't make out the letters lol.) I am very grateful to have a very best friend who loves me and is there for me always.. He knows who he is. I am grateful for my cat who keeps me company at night when sleep doesnt come to me.

Well, I have a lot of general "gratefuls" but today I am grateful because:

My little ones have a great school where they are safe and have the opportunity to play and learn and grow. Their school is walking distance of our house, so they are never far from my arms, and I am grateful for this as well.

My husband was slated to go away for two weeks to PLDC. I had been at peace with this, but I was happy and grateful to find out today that there were too many people on the list for this time, and so he will be here at home with us for the next few weeks. He won't miss the little one's birthday.

I am grateful that I live in such a beautiful, temperate place where the sky is so blue and everything is so green and lush. Waking up to such a comfortable, beautiful place is a pleasure.

I am grateful that even though it is close to payday and money is tight this month, we have enough food in the cabinets that I am not worried about what we will eat until payday.

I am grateful that I am healthy and whole, and don't struggle with disability or illness. I am grateful that the same is true for my family.

I am grateful that I have people who care about me and who I know I can count on no matter what kind of mess I've fallen (or dragged myself) into.

I am grateful for so much more than this, but for now I need to refill my cup of coffee...which I am also grateful for.

I'm grateful for my

Life

Health

Children

Hubby

Siblings

Having a roof over our heads

Food to eat

Drinking water

My son rebounding from another asthma episode - I pray

It's funny (strange) my sister and I were just on the IM saying how grateful we are for our lives despite the difficulties we have sometimes.

Nice thread Elie. Thanks!
