America has problems, but America is NOT THE PROBLEM!~
From the Inside

1. Political Correctness, This started out with the very best of intentions, but has wound up rotting the very fabric of America.

Example: It use to be safe smiling at a woman and complementing their outfit, Now if you do that you risk a sexual harassment law suit.

2.All Forms of getting the news out to the people. This was one of our greatest safeguards, keeping people in general honest. Now everyone has some kind of agenda with no respect for the countries secrets. It has become all about ratings with no personal responsibility.

Example: reporting that the national security agency is spying on phone calls made from areas of the world known to support terrorists.

3. Politicians who do not hesitate to give our enemies home grown propaganda.

Example: Ted Kennedy calling the war a quagmire and hopeless, Howard Dean saying "America cannot win this war" John Murtha Condemning our servicemen and women of high crimes, BEFORE charges have even been made.

4.The Anti-war advocates, while the freedom of dissent is a good thing and guaranteed by the constitution, to take joy in the death of our fighting men and women is a disgrace.

Example: Protesting at the funerals of fallen serviceman causing no end of pain to the families.

5.The total disrespect of our President, sure to be broadcast overseas and used by the enemy as a morale booster for their own troops, How can we expect any country to respect our leader when we do not?

Example: too Numerous to cite.

These examples are the prime reason America is in such disarray and why we are at odds with each other.

Do any of you have different examples of why America is falling apart from within?

and two lines, if remembered by Americans, would heal all the wounds caused by these 5 dangers...

With rights come responsibilities.

Freedom does not free us from the consequences of our actions.

Too many Americans are willing to enjoy the rights while expecting others to shoulder the responsibilities and the consequences of their actions.

good to se you ted, and what terrific reminders. The ones that scoff at america, put her down, try to ruin her, people like ward churchill, are the very first ones to SCREAM THE LOUDEST!! "i GOT RIGHTS"!!!

First, I think your five dangers and the examples are outstanding!  It shows the problems from the loony left and whacko right.

But I will disagree with your concluding statement.  America is still thriving and surviving despite these insanities.  That is what America Great.  And Eurupe does not have a clue.

We need to get some focus about what really matters in this country. I mean a marriage amendment - is that really necessary? Is that really what our priorities need to be in this country?

I do agree that George W. can't win. He is condemned no matter where he stands on an issue. What surprises is me is how his own party won't even stand by him.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's time for a strong third party to come in. We need a candidate like Perot to point out the idiocies in both parties because I don't think either one is even close to getting things right at this time.

Hey, who else will? I don't see anyone at the moment.

A surging of a third to give both the GOP and the DNC a royal kick in the political pants.

America is still thriving and surviving despite these insanities

Ehhh, I have to disagree to a point. America is holding on to a thread. I seriously do not doubt a possible fragmentation in the future. Secession, etc... It's a sad thing, but... I do think it could happen.

thank you for the kudo.

while I agree that America is still the best {my opinion live with it} think how much better it would be if we eliminated the prime 5?

while I do not think men should marry men or women marry women, an amendment is ridiculous. A huge waste of time and money while serious matters like closing the border sits and waits.

Ive heard of no recent talk (at least none that can be taken seriously, ie: having a wide base of popular support) about ANY state seceeding from the union. Where do you get this crap?

neither have I, although it would be nice if Northern California could split from southern.

I'm not saying him literally, just someone like him, a legitimate third party candidate.

a legitimate third party candidate.

UnGag, Ok, that I would agree.

I agree with your list, but I think you could sum it all up with one concept: Self-loathing.

To me, that is what is eating away at the US. Whether it be out of some idiotic ideal or for political or intellectual opportunism, we have this constant need to downplay ourselves, abuse ourselves over the most minor flaw, see ourselves through the eyes of the world's most evil people, etc.

We have the noble need to question everything, but we do it now to the point that we don't know when to stop. Anything that isn't perfect isn't worthy, and since we are never perfect, we can't stand ourselves. The US is like some hormone-addled housewife looking at her thighs, forgetting that our flaws give us character.

(and before anyone gets uppity, I likes me some womanly thighs...)

Good points, especially the PC item. But just try to get one of the PC crowd to express an original thought. Ain't gonna happen.

the people protesting at funerals of fallen servicemen are not anti-war advocates. they're anti-gay advocates.

as long as i'm already here...

mm, do you really think most terrorists are as dumb as you seem to be suggesting? they discovered we were listening to their calls before 911 and immediately went silent. only after a while it slipped their minds, or maybe they just forgot all about it and began jabbbering on the phone to each other again until about 2 months ago when they read an article about the nsa in the peshawar daily fatwa and clammed up again

if only you were right. not only could you stop fretting about them mujihadimbulbs keeping in mind what they already know we're doing...but i wouldn't be half so concerned about them finding out all the things that that should be done but aren't.
