Hmm I am just guessing but I would say that one was accesssed more through forums and the other through your JU page. I could be way off though.

I noticed one of mine did that a couple of days ago as well, just not to that extreme. I'm thinking it might be an issue where your title is listed either as a feed, or in a list of titles, where people have to click it to read it. Must be a well traveled place.

No, I am just an admirer.  Of a great man.

I think it's because one was a featured article.

I will go for good man doc, I do not deserve or have done anything to be great. BUT thank you for the compliment.

I have had a few featured articles amy, BUT never {at least I think never} have seen such a total of selected before. two articles selected over 80 thousand times. I am awed.

Like I've said before, it's an odd glitch of the point tracking system.  I have access to our traffic stats for JoeUser.com, and just your "Second Annual Joeuser Poll" article is reporting more pageviews than is possible in the past 4 days.  Each selection would rank on our traffic stats as a pageview.  We have pretty regular and unchanging traffic to the site at the moment and there's nothing to show a sudden spike in views like those numbers would indicate.

It is a glitch in how things are tracked and scored.  Those numbers do not represent actual article views.

Zoomba: could it be as hits come from different parts of stardock's web presence that the clicks are being counted more than once? Like when you click a title listed on WC it registers, but a script on JU also registers the click? Is there a single tracking element, or does each of stardock's entities have its own script tied into the same DB?
on Dec 08, 2006
It would show up as referral clicks from another Stardock site in that case.  There aren't any on the poll one for example.  Plus it's posted in the blogging category, which is not currently cross-posted to any of our other sites.
on Dec 08, 2006
K. I thought maybe you guys had clicks from internal sites filtered as referrals to keep that from happening when someone came from WC, etc., anyway.
